anyway i'm very curious to hear his sound- would it be as quality as absynth/vanguard/fm7 etc etc. . . or perhaps some more??

Its kinda comparing apples to oranges as far as absynth and vanguard. Absynth and vanguard use subtractive synthesis the Neuron Vs uses Neural synthesis so its not designed to behave the same way. I'm really curious about this synth and i think its cool they came out with a vst version. I like how it says "Unclassified" as far as the type of synth it is listed as There was a lot of talk about the hardware version of this synth in NAMM however i dont think it sold well hence the vst version perhaps? Im just curious to hear how neural synthesis works. It sounds kinda crazy!

"The neuron wasn't designed to emulate analogue sounds like the real VA's do (e.g. Nord, Viruses etc.), but I think it could do nice emulations."
that's not what i heared in the demos on their website.,
it has a >bad bad< case of aliassing and resolution problems.,
this technology is not even near emulating analoge synths., not unless you want it to sound like a 4-channel mod song
the neural network just cant replicate all the fine details that define analogue synths., (imho, anyway)
greets.,

I cant find the samples on their website. Does anyone have a link? i Think i remember the samples sounding bad however it was a long time ago that i listened. Im wondering if they made any improvements since then.

I think that analogue emulation has been covered by nearly every other vst-i on the planet , I reckon that Heartman should not bother trying to emulate and maybe be a innovator instead. Why bother spending time developing a plug that has neural capabilities if you're only going to let it make 303 sounds? (just a random analogue synth, feel free to insert your own!)
Better they should bring us a unique synth that does it's own thing REALLY well, than a okay plug that sounds close to a 303 (please, not another 303 emulator, I've got about 10 already!).
Oh yeah, Mike A, sorry for the off topic rambling dude, it was late, I was trashed & then the next thing I know, Spectrums and C 64's! |

Nueron is more like Camal Audio Cameleon... It takes different spectral content from different oscilators (samples!), and morphs them into one usable sound (sometimes). It has nothing to do with standard VA subtractive synthesis.
The Nueron VST really isn't all it is hyped up to be. First of all.. You can't import your own samples, like the hardware version. It has a dongle called Nuke Controller and the plugin will not start wihtout this peice of crap attached to your ocmputer. So all you crack users, dream on.
This thing costs too much money for what it is... If you ask me Cameleon does everything it is capable of doing, and more... put aside the minor details.
List price 900 US dollars... Probably 700 in the shops. Way over priced, and I believe they make it this expensive to justify the price of the hardware unit.
Also... I own the Virus | Powercore and it is a real Virus. It sh*ts on all other thin ass VSTi's out there. And the Korg Filter sounds nothing like the Virus Filter... To even come remotely close to this... You'd need more filter types... 2 filter which have serial (x2)/parallel/split routing... and a overdrive/distortion/degrader signal strickly for the filters.
Peace.. |

I did not ask if it will sound like or behave the same way as the vanguard/absynth etc.
just the quality of the sound processing-
you sure can find a different sound quality between pro53 or albino to absynth2 and vanguard don't you??
