I use the Technics RP DJ 1200.... the gray one.... I believe it´s a good choice, because it´s not that expensive and it has a killer bass... good quality sound coming from it!

for home use I recomend the Sony 300's Studio monitors, those are very very light and small, perfect for practicing.
For professional use, I like my Technics 1200's (in my opinion it has the most perfect bass) or Sony 500's.
I don't really like the Sony 700's (altough they have the louder bass) because they're heavy as hell and they don't fit comfortably for me.
I don't know about the other brands...
If you get the Technics, make sure you get the latest that has a cord like a phone cord, the old ones have a regular cord.

The Senheiser 25 and 25SP (Very similar designs) are really good for all purpouses, they are the top range senheiser headphones good curve and frequency responce, very good volume light and comfortable. as for headphones amp's I've never yet had to use one, and I'd be against it, my hearing is just to much precious to put them under so much strain.
