Well psy trance is meant to be played on large sound systems, this is true. But I'm an avid headphones about the town kind of guy and I produce music for folk like me 
And all those amazing panning tricks folk use sound waaaay better on headphones than some large rig  |

I do the overall track with speakers.
The finishings, adjustments and details with the headphones. Things that require a careful listening. |

But in the next free longer moment will get some nice speakers.
This times are quite busy in my "other" life though and insomnia makes it also hard to get me to the store hehe

IMHO:
Throw out the headphones...
If you caint hear what you need through your monitors then you need a better room setup or new monitors.
If you can only use headphones for some reason your not realy making what you think anyhow so dont waist the time. You'll just have to go back and fix everything.
I feel your pain with the noize complaints but thats the life of a producer, you plan life around your music.

True, I do everything on my monitors because with headphones I'll always fuck up the mix.
You can't hear how descent your lows are then and if you have your monitors at the good spots you don't have to check your stereo image on headphones imo.

yes I agree with you completely without having a real expirience atleast with monitors/knowledge in production .I really feel like best thing is to throw this headphones away but maybe I would regret it.
But you know - waist of time.. this was really often going through my mind when trying to mix the best I can on this crap headphones.
Long time..
Looking forward to get some monitors -this week is like impossible and am really a bit addicted to playing around with sounds,but well anyhows atleast I know or believe truely that this is the better way and soon I probably have more fun.

Usualy for working monitors but god didt considerate with the artists
and create a neighbors around us so life uneasy the way it looks .
