My favourite Hawkwind album is On The Edge Of Time, an absolute classic, now quite a rare item in their massive ever growing catalogue. Also try Quark Strageness & Charm, science fiction space music for the over fifties !

I used to be a massive Hawkwind fan when I was younger - I've even "borrowed" a few of their images for flyers I've done in the past. Basically everything up to Levitation (1980) is good - everything after - approach with caution!
A good place to start is the "Epoch" - a triple CD anthology that came out recently - you can get it on Amazon for £8 -

a really good retrospective with great booklet. But there are loads & loads of rubbish sub-bootleg Hawkwind stuff out there - so be warned!
