just stick a few of the projects together, make little interludes to connect them, add intro and outro... bang finished track. At least that will maybe get you in the groove of completing tracks...

I have problems with this too, you're not alone           --

One of the reasons for this is that you get better at what you practice.

You have been practicing how to make loops - not finish tracks. Finishing tracks is an acquired skill just like anything.

The key to finishing tracks is to finish tracks. Simple as that.

i find it easier to work first on the climax of the track...the last chorus and leave it exactly how i want it to sound...once I have that I start to work on how I want chorus 1 and 2 to sound subtracting and modifiying instruments as I see fit....once I have that its easier to fill in the rest of the blanks like bridges and verses because you alerady know where you are going to get...its easier because its like ok from the intro i go to the first verse then second verse and I have to get to the first chorus...so then you start putting in stuff that will get you to the first chorus...after that you start putting in suff to the bridge and then another vesrse that will get you to the second chorus and so on till you get to the 3rd chorus...Its easier for me to do it this way as opposed to start from scratch and work my whole way throught the track till i get to the climax because I wont know how I want the climax to be...but once you have a clear idea of what the climax is going to be and have all of your instruments and everything its easy to fill in the blanks to get to the final moment...kinda like an algebra equation you know x+y=3 so you know the result but you still have to find out what the other values are...but once you know the result its much easier to get to it...hopefully this helps....peace!!!

I agree with everyone's comments, and it's a must for you to work on building tracks and less on loops, but that will give you lots of work!

Try exporting all of your tracks to audio loops, load them up into Ableton live and start playing your tracks! Progress between them, find out what sounds good together, and have fun! This will make you have a lot of fun, believe me.
And soon you will start to be able to perform with your loops, and sound cool, then it's time to press record Record yourself playing your looped tunes and make it into tracks (you can go back and do some fine tuning too ).

Also you will be adding some needed sounds for transition parts, and adding a synth or two, some extra drum loops, but you won't be looking to get a loop sound nice and psy, buy how to get from point A to point B.

"When we are stuck, I wanted to kick myself sometimes, I wanted to say “that’s it, I cannot do anymore music, I have no more ideas”, but then Duvdev said “let’s see it as a fight in the studio”, like a video game- there is a level that is really hard to pass, and you keep trying until you move to the next level. So this is how we see it these days and it really helps. For us, when we have these horrible days we just give it a fight. Sometimes it’s the lyrics. Duvdev comes in with lyrics, and from there we get something- which is much easier. Every time it’s something different."

my back of my mind i know i should be doing this.
should i just get it over with even if it sounds shitty?
i use Ableton at first i was stuck in patterns for long just cudnt move on and then i decided to only stick to the step sequencer and its just great how sometimes you just have everything flowing but its very rare thats what bothers me.
correct me if i am wrong, do most of producers go through with this. Is this just a stage where i have to get past it.although It seems like i am going to give up but there is something that pulls me back everytime.I even pop some ratlin sometimes to get it over with lol.

thanks you all for your suggestion ...i am gonna try each and every trick .

if it sound shit and you re going nowhere pass to something else and then come back to it later to see if there is somme good idea to exploit. when you do something it can inspire you to what you re going to do next and make the track advance like this, try making a plan in your head.

Delete shit, keep gold, repeat.

Tons of loops?
Stick'em together, make killer track
(same key only)

Somebody told me one has to have a lot of courage and will power to delete a whole day's work if it is not good.

It happens to me, and there is this part that is so eager to finish the track, and it wants it to be all right, but then I play it to people or I listen over and over and start thinking about those little details and become so paranoid "OMG they WILL hear this, have to fix it ASAP" and then there goes weeks and weeks on same track until I completely lose judgement and let it cool down for some other days and listen it again, most likely at this stage I will know exactly what to do to make it better.

So yeah, no other answer than work work work and keep moving forward.

One thing that helps me get out of the loop is taking any given section of the track and developing it to a certain climax then it kinds of make imagine what should come next, then concentrate on next part, so at the end it is still the loopmaker craft we do just try no to get stuck in 16 bars, always think of the next and previous sections and link them to current scene.

And yeah, there are those days. Frustration is bitter but here we are, because there is nothing like building dancey druggey music.

Yep, everyone said it - just finish the damn tracks.

Something that really helps is to forget mixing and tweaking - at least, most of it - while you are writing. You get your kick and bass going, maybe some hats, then think it would be a great time for a pad... add a simple pad. 2 minutes, it's done. then add your first little bit of melody - simple hipass saw, or whatever - 2 more minutes, done.

Go back and change all this shit to more mind-bending, well mixed sounds later. That's the fun part! Now your "loop" that you are tweaking endlessly is an entire song... and when you are happy with that "loop", you take a step back and say shitson, i finished a tune!           Dance, even if you have nowhere to do it but your living room. ~Kurt Vonnegut
