There's no problem putting a perfectly fine 16@44.1 quality song on YouTube. The current generation of kids just want their music instantly and are ready to settle for a better sounding source. I think it's an interesting concept, one concept I really wish I had as a teenager. It may not be to our likes and most of us probably still prefer a good sounding file or a vinyl but those kids are the future. Like it or not.

Nonsense. Youtube still bleeds money as far as I know. It's a high bandwidth service that the owners haven't yet been able to monetize.

Youtube is certainly the music sharing service of choice these days. It's easier than passing an MP3 along.

Youtube is very nice as long as it concerns any type of music apart electronic music.

And yes from what i know they are loosing a lot of money but i guess they will soon make a big profit out of it somehow.           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

I have even see people play music from youtube in parties XD (little ones of course) and even some bars, they even give a list to costumers of what they wanna hear. With youtube they certainly find anything XD           "The dedication to repetition — the search for nirvana in a single held tone or an endlessly cycling rhythm — is one of electronic music's noblest gestures."

I'm very conservative when it comes to listening to music, so I never listen to music via YouTube. But I do like the concept too. Being instantly able to show new music to your friends over the internet is quite awesome.

On a sidenote: What I often do is watching videos of people playing their instruments, in my case drums and piano, to get technical inputs, for example the fingering of piano pieces.

But all in all I'm glad that YouTube wasn't around when I was a kid. In my opinion, every kid should grow up recording music from the radio instead of downloading it

I think a lot of people have, and it saddens me greatly. Dont get me wrong, I'm not saying that I never use it, or that it is a bad tool and that music shouldnt be allowed on youtube, as when talking music with prople (on forums such as this or whatever) it can be a quick and easy reference. You can check out an unknown artist or track in seconds, and you can link someone to a certain track to give them an idea/heads up...

But I noticed the other day that you can now build playlists on there, similar to the way you can on last.fm...which says to me that yes, it has become a popular MP3 player like winamp or whatever...
