hehe.. hence why I use software and a midi keyboard... I'll buy hardware if that takes me anywhere.. my only big investment was a Mac laptop and that as also for work, so I get some back on Tax Return as well... as a producer once told me, why pay $2000+ for something you'll end up using as just a midi when you can get an awesome one for half that?

for me:

Laptop $3000
Midi 2nd hand: $300
Soundcard 2nd hand: $200
software: so far only $300... my coproducer had most of it bought already, and I'll buy most of what he has over time myself...

it ain't "PRO" as such but we are getting nice sounds, having loads of fun and I've already paid it all off with my 9-5 day job

now I just need to pay off that O/S trip I booked and I'm debt free again

if yoy talented guy and you have free time, you can make side electro or house project, and may be...)))) Saikedelic scene can shows you the world, but about money, I dont think so, or you should be something like Penta. Sure I mean deep undeground saikedelic scene. Cause may be mainstream full on or progressive music some other story, I dont know           http://soundcloud.com/saikozaurus

good equipment makes the sound worth something more.. obviously one cannot buy laptop and midi keys and expect to see the cash flow (its still possible but take the same dude to real studio and he makes even better stuff)

Play live & get paid doing so. Then, if you're lucky, you can break even on the costs of your studio. I'm at 50% now and more than happy about it (yes, I have a small studio ). Don't give up your job to become a pro-psytrance producer, it will make you compromise & adapt your style to commercial interesting music rather than music that you like (because you HAVE to make money). Besides: don't think many psyproducers can live on their productions (and especially not the ones asking about it on isratrance )

i have to not agree on music style
im trying to "make it" with my own sounds
if its changing trou time its only because what i feel i want to do
it can be related to crowd response on dancefloor in some way , obviously its more fun to see the peaple go nuts , but its not like i change it for the money
when evrything is perfect there is also money in the pack , but sure it must never be the primary thought cause this well heard in the music

Yeah....but if you not making money from your sounds....?

Will you change your sound to try and make money?

or will you keep with your genre?

i will never compromise... if i can help it.

this is why i don't mind not making a living from my music. it can remain pure

like i said i try to make it with my own sounds , i dont see my name on evry big festival (or any big festival) yet , so i cant say it success worldwide , but with that slowly more bookings also international and god bless i dont have to think of making pop music for living.

with that said , i do make abit more "commercial" (psytrance is not commercial to begin with) stuff latly , but hey.. only since i love to see the peaple go nuts on the dancefloor and the reaction to slightly "regualr" bass or more "minimal" (since i used to simply load too much)
but offcourse if u know my music its only since i defintly used to make mess and now i just got the order of sounds and buildup and quantity of sounds "right"
