if you have good samples you don t need to do lot of processing and it ll sound better.

well, now i think that for snare-hh sounds good, the snare must be boosted at 7000hz to combine with "z" of hihat...something like "UTZ TAZ" i tried this and works .... but my question is if wanna sound a hihat with a normal snare or clap... like "UTZ TA" .. if u put this form the combination will sounds dead and poor..... i hope that i made u understand my point...

whay dont you try to make a groupe of the chanals of the hi-het's + snere + crash's and reversd crashs and control it on the track as one ?

try to poot an EQ on that group and dont forget a compressor , C1... L2... ect'
good luck bro           "fuck money..."

i make my snare-track and hihat track etc like you all do, and i put filters/EQ/distortion/comp on it (if necessary). But then i send them all through the same stereo group track and a put another filter on that... And it automatically sounds a lot more homogenous. Also, like that it's easy to make filter sweeps on all drums... Also, try to use drums cut out of the same loop or loaded with the same drumkit, and if you use drums from a different loop/kit, try to look for drums that already sound quite good with the kit/samples you're already using, so you don't have too much editing to do

Grouping snares and hihats together and eqing them with the same eq seems a bit strange to me because they live in different parts of the frequency spectrum. Snares need more "beef" in the lower freqs than hihats for example. Anyhow, if it works for you go for it.

Boobytrip - "But then i send them all through the same stereo group track and a put another filter on that"

sounds like he treats them differently then he groups them and put a filter on that group to get its own space in the mix... but i can be wrong hehe

filters are great to divide the mix into different areas..
