good day too yall,
im interested to now if you all have a particular technique for macking crisp and eardrum freindly percusion for full on!!
i particuly like the sounds of gms, melicia, astrix style percusion,
now it seems hard to find these sounds straight out of a box or softsynth etc.
does anyone no of a particular synth or eq efx formular for getting these sounds.
a gather most of these sounds are originally roland but heavily processed due to there bad history with ad converters, but still in the dark with this one?
any help would be much gratfull,
cheers.

I think you will go quite fine with the sounds of the 808 and 909, also avaiable in rebirth, but better if you get real samples from an original.
If you want them sharper or clearer you can process them, subtle!, with an exiter or just Eq them.

I usualy use sounds from real drums and shorten and eq them.

For the typical HH things use the 808 909 for additional things use "real percussion".

For snares use claps combined with snares to get different sounds...

try a simple trick a great sound designer tought me....
try to add a really short reverb on your percusion line....sometimes it makes it sound 5 times more dynamic....try to use the samples you have to an extent ...everything is editable....but i u have the money.......spectrasonics stylus.....thats the best

try getting sample cd's and eqing the drums
also you can put a little delay (can be called reverb)
also you can play with the "note" you know i mean lower higher...
good luck
btw - their groove is so standart and boring ... but it's a matter of taste
