Be aware my man the time you ll be able to hear sounds that doesnt exist into your music or even into ur mind.
It happend to me some times.
Last time i was hearing some high ultra fast whispering woman's voice trying to say something.
I was listening on my headphones very loud and i could hear her sound really clear like standing out of the mix from the middle r8.
So go put of the headphones.
She was talkin again,she only stopped when i was trying to find out where was that noise coming from.I couldnt find out
I ve never took chemical drugs in my life,and never had deppression or other psycho-related shit.
My house is among several high freaquencies transmitions from mountain to mountain,
maybe the combination of hash and deep listenning activated something in my head and could listen some info from air.
Dont know for sure what was it,
but i hope it ll come again

when i use to smoke weed all my tracks sounded like mastered and polished to perfection but the next days reality is totaly different!!!
now i dont smoke any more in my life cos i finnaly realised that you can get in a higher state of conciusness just diving into soundz and music it trippy enougph by it self you just need to find the button in your brain to unleash the highernes!!

I can relate to that orange
Also i noticed that smoking kills my creativity. Not always, but specially the next day after i smoked, i always get moody and grumpy.
It made me wonder why the hell i'm smoking in the first place. I quit oncemore, it kills my creativity and my health - theres really not to many positive things about it imho

I didnt like 2 work when im high coz im cunfusin with the instruments and its very dificult 4 me 2 make a mix when im high and confusing to work on effects coz i cant concentrate... |

i make wonders when i play with vanguard stoned  also i arrange in a ultrafast way when i'm stoned (and normally the faster the more natural your arrange is). but for mixing no way i can't mix stoned, as orange said.
another thing that happens is loosing patience to be in front of the pc while stoned (most of the times i lay on the bed and turn the TV on or i listen to some music). this happens AFTER smoking a joint.
but if i get home already stoned (like at night before going to bed) this doesn't happen... most of my best patches were made like this hehehe |

but now i start to work on my new track , of course without the weed ... but now i handle sound better ...
is it simply coz of experience .. ?
or maybe 1 dose of hash , somehow expanded my EARS in some sense ... ?

I really like to smoke marijuana before composing!!
It gives me a unique feeling with the music..
But sometimes it happens that I compose after a joint, I like my track very much but... the day after I listen again , and it's a real crap!!LOL |

i enjoy producing while high, but like a lot of you said it sounds great at the time but the next day it you can be like wtf? to balance that i usually get something basic down.... kick bass perc etc .... then while im in the clouds i play around with synths to get stuff that sounds good. the next day i can usually fix it up and improve it, let it sit for a little... work on it sober, let it sit, smoke up listen work.. balance!
unfortunately i have not been able to smoke in over a month  its christmas though i may order a vaporizer and get me a nice bag

I find that being stoned stimulates my creativity for finding leads, FX, beats sometimes... but it's really awfull for anything related to arranging the song structure, mixing, making patches, working on the kick-bass sounds... Since things will sound amazing even if it's utter crap. The number of times I've made some patch or came up with a bass that I'm 100% convinced KILLS, and then the next day...

it is generally not a good idea to compose on any narcotics....mainly becuase especially on wee dor hash ones perception of the music is very different and what might sound like a symphony when your fucked is often crap when you are sober....
have you ever listened to any electronic music while being stoned and said..."this is crap"
best plan for me....
once i have made some tunes,...i have a test session , where i get stoned and listyen tot the music.....to see how it sounds ..then when i am sober i can make changes or what not.
bnut if it sound sbrilliant sober , then it will sound so much better stoned... |
