Have heard of this concept in classical music. There are some pieces that can be read by players sitting on opposite sides of the same table which are played together to create the composition. Think it's known as harmonic inversion.
An interesting read:

the melodies are reversed but not the sounds,,
this is a big diference ...
in classic music is a very common technique,,
for translate this in electronic music,
you dont reverse the audio, but your reverse only the midi before render in audio,,

I think a track on Kilowatts "undercurrents" was 100% reversed.
I don't actually know.. but when I went to warp it in ableton it sure looked and sounded if that was the case. |

Yes of course way harder concept for the recorder generation. Wonder what Mozart would do with all the technology we have in hand now.
Lovely ambient music btw and a funny observation by dubsahara ... somehow takes me back to the golden era of namlook & fax records
PS... can anyone explain how to process reverse melodies in a live situation?

Hmmm, I'll have to ask him about that at Sacred Earth.

this is wokring , but the feedback not cool,
if you whant more than one time repeat, you got backward forward,,
many reverse delays are like this,,,
only Line 6 do the real reverse + feedbacks , allways in reverse,
i never found this kind of reverse delay in any other pedals or plugs,,,
but definitively this "Backward Machine" works very nice, for reverse 1 time the "melody/pattern"
