Would be interesting to compare the movie vs. the book. But I'll wait until others go and watch it.

P.S. I liked it overall but... we'll talk later.

I didnt like the script, months pass and pass and you dont get a clue about it.           "The dedication to repetition — the search for nirvana in a single held tone or an endlessly cycling rhythm — is one of electronic music's noblest gestures."

That's true about all of them, since the very first movie. I guess it's hard to squeeze a 700-page book into 2 hours. But you’re right – I always had this problem with HP movies. I read all the books between the 5th and 6th movies and was surprised how you feel passage of time in the books and how you have just guide posts (like, “Hey, it’s Christmas already!”) in the movies. But the last book the time doesn’t seem to go anywhere. It’s just endless disaparating and re-pitching a tent. I was glad the movie, as usual, jumped. But…

The only thing that is missing in harry potter is a rave, all the stuff that wizard would make while on acid XD           "The dedication to repetition — the search for nirvana in a single held tone or an endlessly cycling rhythm — is one of electronic music's noblest gestures."

Boring movie. I found myself so bored I walked out & snuck into The Last Exorcism for free & was much more entertained

You're onto something here.
The important question is: was the movie as boring as the book?
My answer is no. The last book is the only one that could actually benefit from time skipping.
But did the movie skip what needed to be skipped and kept what needed to be kept?

P.S. Somewhat OT: I liked the 6th book best. The 7th was like Xolvexs’ 200th topic – I expected it to be super-epic and it did not deliver.

^ Haha
My kids re-read the books before seeing the films. They saw this one and simply said it was pretty dark. I guess reading the book didn't give them the kind of imagery the movie gives. Anyway, it's only half of the book.
(I have nothing to comment since I haven't seen it and after just getting Lasik, may be a few weeks anyway.)
