1 week away!
For out out-of-state friends: please contact us asap for directions or tix as we're filling out our space. We'd love to have more of our neighbors spend time with us out in the desert!
Also, we'll have premium viewing of the meteor shower with very little city light pollution!

Freaky Chakra (Astralwerks / Oxygen Music Works)
In 1993, San Francisco's Daum Bentley released his first 12" EP, "Halucifuge," on the seminal west coast underground label Exist Dance Records, choosing the moniker of "Freaky Chakra."
As one of the first artists to sign with the Astralwerks label, Bentley released his debut album, 1995's "Lowdown Motivator." His innovative sound and abandonment of traditional West Coast influence earned him critical acclaim, and was exemplified in the album tracks "Budded on Earth to Bloom in Heaven" (with Curve vocalist Toni Halliday) and "Peace Fixation."
In 1996, Bentley joined forces with electro/experimental phenom Single Cell Orchestra (aka Miguel Fierro), and together they became one of the most sought-after live techno PAs in the USA, rocking some of the biggest club events and warehouse parties across the country. Shortly after, Astralwerks released "Freaky Chakra vs. Single Cell Orchestra," which became a classic, "must have" album for any electronic music lover.
With the release of "Blacklight Fantasy" in 1998, Freaky Chakra continued to explore the vast electro-space of musical possibilities. This album spouts a darker, more experimental electro and techno-house vibe. Tracks from Blacklight Fantasy were played on turntables world-wide by DJs ranging from Sasha and Richie Hawtin to John Howard and DJ Solar.
Bentley has worked on recording projects with respected artists such as Meat Beat Manifesto's Jack Dangers and John Selway, and has also created remixes for Dubtribe, Cornershop, Charles Webster, Rabbit in the Moon, and many others. Throughout the years, the Freaky Chakra live PA has been featured all over the U.S. and in Canada, Puerto Rico, and Australia.
Recent releases include an EP for Mark Ambrose's Crayon label and remixes for Whoop! Recordings, Iron box, Hallucination Records, Alexi Delano, Hawke, Rabbit in the Moon, and Deepsky. The fourth and most recent full-length album, "Moonroof Operator," was released on Run Recordings in 2003.

Map point available with donation - please donate via PayPal or send an RSVP to goa(at)overmindworks(dot)com by Wednesday, November 5 for map point information. If you are not from the Phoenix area, let us know and we'll ensure that you receive directions.
Paypal is the best way to guarantee a spot as site capacity is limited! Keep your receipts! For convenience, we encourage you to use the following PayPal addresses for all donations:
Directions will be emailed Friday afternoon to everyone who donates.
18+ only. Minors must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian.
Rain or Shine. Plan accordingly.
We request that everyone PLEASE carpool - it saves money on gas, helps allow PLENTY of room for parking, and establishes a greater sense of adventure among friends. Vehicles with high ground clearance (trucks, SUVs, Subarus) are encouraged - The roads to the location are usually quite car-friendly (even for compacts), but weather conditions can vary and great caution is always recommended when driving on desert and forest roads.
This is a LEAVE NO TRACE event. Please do not throw ANY debris on the ground (ESPECIALLY cigarette butts). Pack out what you pack in. It is the expectation of ourselves and the relevant authorities that our campsite will be cleaner than we found it.
We recommend using a standard camping checklist, but we strongly recommend that you bring the following items (at a minimum):
Water
Food
Ice
First Aid
Trash Bags
Firewood
Tents
Chairs
Tarps
Sun Shades & Rain Shelter (we'll have some, but more is always good)
Bug Spray (if needed)
Clothes for Warm AND Cold Weather
Do NOT bring:

Good times were had by all, judging from the smiling face I kept encountering all weekend long. I, for one, had a blast. Here's some pictures from our friend Chromatest:

Great setup. I like this video:
Wish I could have gone. A little too far for me that weekend and too close (timewise) to a recent weekender campout (I'm such a lightweight nowadays). Hopefully you guys got more planned for your winter season over there.

We plan on doing this much more often. We'll make sure the events are posted with plenty of time for people to plan to camp with us!
