Sylenth is a really great VST I use for leads a lotttt. Also I recommend Vanguard and DiscoDSP.           www.musicproductionnatural.com || www.facebook.com/djamoeba | facebook page

ohhh misread. my bad. I don't use hardware synths because they're expensive. I know a lot of people love the Nord Lead though. - someone else will be able to give you a better solution though tomorrow maybe because the Lead is expensive too.

You should try Ebay or Craigslist though if you want to get stuff for cheaper.           www.musicproductionnatural.com || www.facebook.com/djamoeba | facebook page

You could get a nord lead 2 rack for as little as 250quid, last time I checked anyway.

Nexus and Omnisphere aren't synthesizers, they're ROMPlers - its a big difference...

nexus is, but omnisphere has a very capable synth engine, in addition to the huge library.           https://soundcloud.com/dead-end-dance

Cheap hardsynths?
There's Roland SH-201, a basic synth with an intuitive panel. Analog-modeling, the price is arround 450-500$ US.

It can produce interesting sounds, but not as amazing as Virus.
It doesn't have advanced features, such as Access Atomizor (Virus buffer override) which is great for trance!
It's almost the same as running Discovery... the diference is that you can play with the knobs and faders!

Did anyone ever use a Korg Radias?

I remember being quite excited about it when they reviewed it in SOS, but never got round to trying one out.
