I see. So you didn't get the TI working well for you, yes? I've heard it's mostly good as of version 5 and admit I'd welcome the extra features on it alone, but would also welcome automatic saving of patches within a project and more streamlined automation as well of course.
but yeah, those mooger foogers rock the world! I still have the Ring Mod on my wish list! Oh, and the black Polar must sound better then the other one

The TI was buggy, but I did not have the latest OS. Don't get me wrong its like my C but it has more modules and AU editor that I can save whole channel strips with, in Logic.
Its just too much cash for me to justify having when I can buy a C and a bunch of other stuff that makes the C sound better than the TI ever did.

Eurorack modular, the only way youll be happy with hardware
No editors, presets but youll get a solid understanding of synthesis
Also you can swap bits out if your not happy with them and eventually have your dream synth
Expensive to start with but after the initial outlay , almost as cheep as software, and real fucking addictive
Also if you buy second hand on muffwiggler you wont lose any cash when you sell (unwritten rule that new modules sell for 80% of the origional asking price)
But remember, one does not simply stop at 9u. Lol

Getting a case and starting one as well after China tour in April. May god have mercy on my relationship with the missus and life in general (or lack of it).

Been trying to explain west coast synthesis to mine, but she dont get the fact that filters are sinewave generators and not filters.......

Very very posfordish
Sallen key filter with a bit of buchla thrown in for extra creamyness °°°ACTS 4:12°°°° |

Doepfer A190-1 Midi to CV, MN DPO, Maths, MMG, couple of Doepfer ADSRs and LFOs, Doepfer mixer and VCA. Then at some point Livewire AFG, Rene, Atlantis. Depends on gigs really but they are lining up so things are looking good

If you got a spdif out or a optical out you might want to check out expert sleepers
Sample accurate,(no midi)
And the silent way plugin sweet gives you 3 fast as fuck envs, lfos, random sequencers,
Could save quite a bit of cash rather than buying seperate envc and lfos
Also you might like the STG MIX, moog voyager mixer and clips beautifully
I just got me a mn STO, Wow, dpo sound with a warped version of pwm on the variable waveform aand im convinced uts a Sh101 sub as well
You sure bout the dpo, not very trance like
I would swear by a Rubicon, Sto combo as well
Dpo is a beautifull sounding thing but only good at the west coast thing,
Rubicon is the trance osc no doubt bout it
Mixed with a cv'able crossfade you can get don buchlas supersaw patch no probs
Im not trying to tell you what to buy bud
Just showing some options,
Ps, expert sleepers got midi on a single patch out through there ES3, ES4, and dinsync as well
Totally intergrate your setup
Euroracks fuckin great eh!

Thanks for the feedback. Why is the dpo not very trance like though? Clips of it I heard where lush and FM on it was great.
The A-190 has voltage off set to keep VCOs tracking across the keyboard, maybe the more expensive VCOs track much better than the A110 and A111 I had that needed the off set.
Not getting all these modules before the summer to be honest, but anything you can suggest, please do so.

Expert sleepers can auto calibrate so most osc will track perfectly over 10 oct(yes its a fact)and you can save them, and it is sample accurate, seriously, so solid I had to adjust all my vst tracks to be in time, no jitter at all , all you need is a daw that lets your plugins have multiple ins
Dpo is a clone of a buchla 258 or 259
And although very sweet and beautifull its not really meant for classic east coast or moogy type synthesis and I find the wavefolder a bit meh, I never use it personall( the wavefolder that is)
Personally I find the rubicon to be the best of both types of synthesis plus its through zero so the fm is far more musical in its nature and it tracks like a pissed of terminator,
Dpo only really tracks well over 4 octs
Mind you im convinced he nicked thecsquare wave from moog when he worked there, hence no pwm or there would be layers
To me the rubicon can come up with some very nordvirus stuff with a good modern buchla sound ,
So for the same money I would go rubucon, sto
Get the best of both worlds and get osc sync thrown in for good measure
Also a malekko vca, best clipping in euro, from subtle to melt yer face of
And an optomix, gives vactrol envs and gives a very organic feel to any cv or audio you play through it
Just a couple of suggestions bud
But I would defo check out the expert sleepers, turn you modular into a TI

Nice one, will check it all out, cheerio!
P.S. I don't want more Moog flavor I have two Moog synths, I want something different, more Rolandy, or something completely different.

hey thanks for the info! care to explain a little more how this expert sleepers thing works? I have the spdif connections on my interface, could read the manual from their website, but heck, that's why we have a forum, eh?
if I read you right, you're saying I could make use of software envelopes and LFO's while saving money for some racks for this porpuses, uh? very interested |

Yep, basically it utilises an internal type of "cv". And has a modular architecture, ie a basic front end that the hardware syncs to then you add lfos, function generators and the such,
Kinda tricky at first but when you get into it its very very flexible
And like a virus ti it totally intergrates you modular, so to speak
And its 8hp,, so plenty room for other modules
Dont get me wrong its fiddley as fuck in the beginning and as I said you need a daw that can handle multiple inputs to vsts, ableton can do it well, but not sure bout the others
But its a solid way to intergrate a modular into a daw
Solid timming and a 10 octave scalled output to any osc you callibrate with it.,
Hope this explains it a bit better
Also make sure your spdif is 5.1 and not stereo
And you also get the rare luxury of having synced modular lfos in your projects
