A real analog synth, preferably modular.
Hardware digital synths are algorithms in a box and today's soft synths sound great already.

yesterday i just got delivery of my moog voyager old school.....no midi...no saving patches....100% analog voltage...
using motu's new Volta software to control this beasts cv inputs from ableton...its just amazing to hear all those simple synth sounds we take for granted in digital synth...but on this its just got so much charecter and depth....just so beautiful.... http://soundcloud.com/seer

+1 to disco hooligans.
Also I think Thomas is thinking right here... Wanting to mix analog, digital, hw sampler, vst's and FX. Bring in a machinedrum to the equation and it's a powerful versatile setup.
It would be very healty for the psyscene if some of you bought something else then the standard viruses and nords.

Haha, unfortunately no, I had to spend my money on food instead.
I've been doing a lot of research and investigating, though, and I think I'm going to set my long-range sights on a Voyager or Little Phatty. I'd really like a Nord Modular but I don't feel like risking Ebay to get one. Also there's not much that the other Nords can't do that I can't replicate with my Virus. It seems like an analog is the way to go in terms of diversifying my sound range and nobody does it better than Moog. Plus I "know" someone and might be able to get a good deal.
