i've seen yamaha sequencer...but i couldn't connect it to anything (she has nothing except it)
anybody uses hw seq ? how much do they cost ? what are the limits ? are they reliable
preferably from experience, not from docs.

i dont know what yamaha sequencer your talking about but hardware sequencers should be reliable, afterall, they were being used in professional music before computers were (to the extent they are today, i mean) the akai MCP30 is supposed to be one of the most popular pro machines, but then things like that are largely used for playing live the limits are that a computer beefed out with a lot of hard disk and memory will manage to store most of your data, whereas hardware sequencers are more and more pushed today in comparison, youll have to use lots of disks to back up your data |

You can't run VST instruments on hardware sequencers. You don't have a 17" monitor on them. You don't have a mouse or a keyboard in there. I say stay with your computer and Logic. |

but the point of using a hardware sequencer is for running hardware synths,as far as im aware theyre more reliable for that- with a pc y7ou have to fiddle around a lot, theres no guaruntee your pc will cope with sequencing complex parts on a lot of hgardware in real time, even if it is powerful, coz computers do illogical things
the idea of a hardware sequencer is to take that element out |

Dont use HW seq. computer is alot more comfortable, big screen. these times all u need is a good synth and a computer with good soundcard. (maybe sampler/MIDI...) |

most of us here are Pc freaks so we can use Pc's well but some of musicians are Pc's LAMERS so they preffer Hardware
but i think that hardware stuff are more proffecional than software ( no errors , bugs , great 4 live performance , better sound .........) i do not imagine myself someday performin live with Cubase or Fruity , he he totally lame ah
whoah and about VSTi , i don't believe in it that it's no of them , most of pro artists usin VST hardware version ....... ah of couse the guy that talked about it didn't brought them only downloaded from web so of couse it's no free hardware ......
Bilbo buy one and tell us your feelin and we will be happy for you |
