hardware related noob question

just got my self NI audio kontrol 1 which is a usb interface, and i want to get the Novation Remote SL which is also usb ... so my question is what would be the best way of connecting both of them? the Remote via midi to the interface? or using individual usb slots within the computer for each device?
latency issues? can i even use it's automap functions if it's connected to the interface only?? help me guys, i know my shit!! just ignorant about hardware!!! |

Both USB.
Unless you don't have any ports open and you REALLY need them for other stuff, there's no reason not to.
