i'm starting to look at signal processing units and thats a very vast field of equipment so i want to start small with a tube compressor and a multi effect unit maybe, anyone has suggestions where i should start looking, even just brand names of quality gear will be helpful .

* LA 4 and LA 3 - bast compressor
* NEVE 5104 its a compressor/Gate with 4 band EQ, HuPass/Low-Pass Filrter
about the multi fx: NEVE , KORG SDD-3000 or
Q4

i'm willing to pay as much as it costs as long as i'm happy with the gear .
at the moment i like the fat man 2 tube comp because it's good, easy to use and not overpriced .

Check also the Focusrite Mixmaster. Not very cheap but it has everything you need amd it's recomended a lot. |

As for Multi-fx units, check TC Electronics Fireworx or Eventide Eclipse...not very cheap either,but it'll make U happy  . |

thanks everybody, i bought a tube compressor this afternoon, and i wasn't suppose to buy any new gear for a while .
a friend told me once that once you start getting processing gear there's no going back, you're addicted, oh boy .
