Also, theres no way to do it on CDJ's.
so cd mixing isn't the same as computer software programming.i already knew that, thanks for the confirmation of proving yourself wrong
Eh? what programing are you talking about? I must have missed the part where I preprogrammed it, hit play and record at same time, and came back an hour later to stop the session. Methinks you don't know the difference between traktor and ableton. Maybe you should go inform yourself... or maybe you should just go fuck yourself.

This been brought up countless times before and I think the argument is dead. If the mix is good its good.
And this mix was very good.
I heard it live from start to finish and it fit perfectly for the time I asked Nate to play. It changed the pace of things yet kept people interested in the sound. The eighties samples fit well with the progressive/fullonish vibes, & with the sun out beaming on you it was a great morning.
check around page 20 for the full debate to that took place about a year ago, this isnt the right thread for this!

It took you a month to put it together and 30 takes to get it right. One word, programming.what is the new meaning for "on the fly"?

howabout we open this shit up to some actual dj-ing and audio molestation....
Then lead the way laptops, retro style, drop your mouse, remove your programmable software from your screen, stand behind some actual dj-ing decks and manually work for the audio intercourse.
traktor and ableton are software programs.traktor is much easier to use,Ableton is used by proffesionals for remixing and producing, but I hear it can also be used to mix, just like traktor. They are programs and a person who operates them is a programmer.Lets"open this shit up to some actual dj-ing" is what i support and was only guessing it was done by a computer.i didn't say the mix wasn't good,i said it was good programming and i was right,i even said it was everything hardcore said it was, very sorry if i have upset you programmers out there,it is what it is,whats done is done.it is a good listening, never said it wasn't

What I mean by "on the fly", is that I'm continuously manipulating the software and the mixer and there are countless opportunities to fuck it up. Maybe we just have a conflict of terms... when you say programming, I think you mean arranging... to me, programing would be making a set in ableton and automating everything so that I just have to hit play on the set...
Come to sacred earth, I think you might consider what I am doing to be "dj'ing" once you see it in person. Theres more to dj'ing than just setting a pitch control.

If it's not programmed then explain the month to put it together. That is programming and when you go back to correct the mistakes, its reprogramming,on the fly to me is something that was not planned ahead, imo a month and 30 tracks to get it right is planned ahead.great programming, its very good

Programming and arranging sets are two totally different things. Lots of Djs do some sort of prearrangment no matter the medium. A week, month, 3 months.. Turntablist beat there sets to death before they take there "routine" on the road. I really think you have no idea what Djing really is.....
Nate, listened to your set last night and it was good... Very creative, perfect daytime booty shaker!

Thanks for the kind words
If anyone reading this is from the west coast, we'll be moving to either San Diego or San Fran at the end of august and I'd really like to spread some hot steamy love all over the entire coastline, if you know what I mean.
