Because you caint see the one button being pushed dosent make it any less lame....
And what kind of dj booth is set up so you caint see or watch the musician do there thing?... Lame

DJ booth/Deco setup is key!

Cheeting is all in your opinion.

My opinion is that the real artists are the programers who made all this software ... the real cheetings is taking credit for other peoples music , if your just a dj give credit where it is due.

Make it your self and play it however feels best to you. If you feel like pushing one button is enough well... you know my opinion.           \\\"Invoking the inner dancing buddha with future frequencies from beyond\\\" ~GyPsy

Playing pre-recorded music is cheating. If you want to be fair, play it all using musical instruments, preferably made by you. Electricity and amplification is cheating too. Great composers hundreds of years ago did not need that crap to create masterpieces.

What if the music is handed to you by fellow producers? Cheating too?
How is not supporting the scene (whatever that means) cheating? Who cheats who?

[don't worry Hardkornate, our hijacking of this thread should still work in your promotional favor ]

Dam now I am curious. Could you please post one of your not so best works of not so special nature so the non promoter public can consume?

If you would like demos, hit me up in private, as I would prefer not to post my best work for public consumption due to the special nature of my sets(I run through about 40 tracks an hour.)

djs who only download music for free are cheating the labels and artist. being an artist im surprised you dont agree?

im interested in hearing a 40 track an hour psy set though! its good someone is pushing the boundaries with laptop djing i suppose.

can you post some mixes for us to check out?

I presume you mean DJs who download pirated releases are being disrespectful to the music producer community and play big part in depriving artists and labels from their earned money. I agree. But don't forget that lots of music is made on pirated software using illegally obtained sample banks, and many album covers are made on cracked programs using illegally acquired copyrighted imagery.

I've come to the conclusion that being involved with this music on any level is a money losing proposition. I think I've lost about 15k this year. If you want dollars, produce commercial music, not music that's meant to be played only once or twice a year in any given market by DJ's who don't even get gas money. I'm fairly certain that most people who make music do it because they love to do it. Art is not a job. Art is the reason in and of itself.

Oh, and for a monent of honesty... the real reason I wasn't going to post any mixes is that I don't have internet yet and am having to go to the grocery store to get online. I just did a search and apparently my mix from Sacred Earth is still online. I guess people keep downloading it

Its definitley cool that the southeast is getting some more firepower to an already potent arsenal of djs!
