dude, seriously? all that cd players are for is an image? I thought they were mainly for DJ'ing if you don't have your music pressed to vinyl, which MOST of us do not. Have you ever even listened to me and lizzard play when you brought us to MN? All cd players are capable of is Pitch Control? seriously? lol c'mon man.

I said it was my opinion. Also, you guys WERE manipulating the tracks, so why get all defensive? Especially with the guy that bothered to rent 12 CDJ's so you could play with your preferred medium?
Personally, I think the whole argument is fucking retarded, as the only thing that matters is what comes out of the speakers. If I'm using a jaw harp, some filters, and a pig heart for the kick drum, as long as it sounds good, that's all that matters.

Come on, you'd dig it just as much if you weren't aware of the 'press one button' situation. What if the DJ booth was raised above the ground so much that you could not verify the method of performing?

Personally, if it's not vinyl, it's cheating, and if you're going to cheat, go all the way. CDJ's just seem like a half way point to me. If I'm going to go digital, I'm going to use the most powerful tool at my disposal(I suppose that would be ableton, but I don't enjoy using it, Traktor just has a more free form feel to it.)

Playing pre-recorded music is cheating. If you want to be fair, play it all using musical instruments, preferably made by you. Electricity and amplification is cheating too. Great composers hundreds of years ago did not need that crap to create masterpieces.

how are cds cheating?
why does everyone think vinyl is impossible? its actually way more fun having two huge plates spinning around. I wish to the Great Creator in the Sky that more tunes were pressed on vinyl. I would be lugging huge cases all over the place. Its not impossible to play vinyl people, there's not that much of a difference between plates and cds.
cheating is when you dont buy your music and dont support the scene.
