I recently saw this video of one guy playin a really cool instrument called Hang Drum. It sounds like a bassy xylophone. And it looks like a small UFO. Are there any tracks with these sounds? Would appreciate if links are available.
thanks in advance!

Here is a sample http://www.oddmusic.com/clips/hang.mp3

The hang is definitely a divine instrument. I had the good fortune of playing one at a didgeridoo festival a couple of years ago.

Unfortunately I do not know of anyone in the psy chill genre using one yet (or samples) if you like the 'vibe' of the hang then check out "Blue Beryl" by Digital Samsara. As a hang fan, there are lots of nice overtones there you will appreciate. also research music of mbira, steel drums, and traditional gamelan which have a similar feel. (although there is nothing like a hang! playing one has to be a highlight for me!

For some good hang solo tracks (ok, no star wars jokes check out the website of Alan Tower. http://alantower.net/hang.html

he is a prominent local artist in the bay area that is into the hang, and regularly plays live if you are in the area be sure to catch him

what's up with these hang guys?
can't get in touch with them for more info on
the hang itself and where to get one.
e-mails are prohibited and the hang topic is locked.
sloppy business

...erhhmm sorry forget it.
just saw the prices for which peeps are selling 2nd hand hangs. couldn't believe they are so expensive (from 1200 euro to 6000 dollars)! it's a cool instrument but not THAT cool...

I knew I should have followed my bliss and got one way back then! (when somewhat affordable)

for that much though, a good steel drum and some electronic ingenuity could pass??
