Hi elad, did you bought it?
If so, which scale did you choose?
|
|
didnt bought it yet. money issue only.
the scale is HARD choise (btw they whiling to make any scale i ask - special treat for knowing the man that makes them)
but i think the F scale has the most 'unique' and good sounding as well will fit me the most with my music.
for now i have the pantam sample cd and its LAME compare to play with hands , but still sounds great after good programing.

some while ago there was a thread opened here mentioning another type of these drums i was interested in. pitty i dont remember the name.
i found a video on youtube, showing this type, looking pretty similiar, but from another company not looking that nice as the one shown in this thread/video i mean.
in this video a guy was playing this type of steeldrum laying on his lap. it was kiinda metallic blue coloured and looking similiar to this one:

what we see called happy drum and it sounds the worst out of the 3: pantam (hang) , Eclipse drum , happy drum.

I'm pretty sure one of the new shpongle tracks has some "hand drumming" lol..
also why not just record some song's online and make your own sample's?
this is a serious "newb" question i realise.. but i'm kind of being serious... I mean unless you know for sure they are VERY VERY talented at multi-sampling with super quality mics and such.. then whats the difference? |

i asked myself how he did that. i tried the same few months ago, just to cover some spaces while im not able to achieve some foam. but in my case it was not possible to nail them cause of the height of the "spikes" and was not possible to "tape" them with double sided tape cause they fell off the wall after some days....
do i have to glue them? this would not be the interest of my renter and at least not mine cause i would have to repaper the wall in case of a move-out.... ?¿?

we glued them. it was a garage room so we did not care much.
some did fall off eventually (after months). It makes big difference to the room. You can immediately hear how dead the room is when you go inside.
he moved a few years after and had to get the room re-painted..
we got the boxes from a local food-market for free.
