Haltya - Electric Help Elves - Exogenic - 2oo4
---------------------------------------------------
Pelinpala (Tommi Sirkia) and Outolintu (Jurgen Sachau), working from the Haltya studios, first released on the Fusion vs. Confusion compilation in 1999. The Project/Haltya 12”, released in 2000, received good feedback and club plays from, among others, Annie Nightingale at BBC Radio One.Electric Help Elves is the second album release for this dynamic duo (debut: Forest Flavour, ExoCD 09). Those who have heard Haltya’s latest 12” Hero (Exo 1211), knows what to expect.
By using instruments that are uncoventional for psy-trance guitars and horns Haltya has managed to create a groovy sound that we call Funky Forest Trance. The sound is something that is impossible to describe with only a couple words, but with the help of the cover graphics you get a fuller picture of the contents. The prima horns, guitar and drums on single track Hero results in an acid jazz sound or probably the funkiest trance ever made, depending on how you look at it.
