Some or many of you will have heard of Halogen. He has a great track on Fluid Audio's Hope compilation, not to mention his previous "Recycled Broadcasts" and "Length And Brecht (Remixed)" free mp3 EP's, both of which are crackers!
As of yesterday he has released an album from his label website. I stumbled across it on Friday just randomly. Here's the spiel:

Halogen is the brainchild of 21-year old producer Adam Janota-Bzowski. After a hugely successful 2008, which saw his stock rise significantly after some stellar live performances at The Glade Festival, Big Chill and London’s Scala venue amongst others, Halogen offers his first full length for the growing Maternity imprint.
‘Baked’ follows hot on the heels of his first download only EP Recycled Broadcasts, which has received over 2500 downloads since its release in late 2008. Mixing warm, organic melodies with intricate glitched out electronics, found sounds and samples, Halogen has created a delicate and mature masterpiece which belies his tender years.
With a growing international fanbase, notably in the UK and across the pond in America, Halogen has also garnered much respect from fellow producers and musicians, such as Steve Hillage & Miquette Giraudy (System 7/Gong), Rena Jones (Native State/Interchill), Chris Coco (BBC Radio2) and Bob Humid (Serve & Destroy – Berlin).

This sounds great! Some very beautiful stuff there. I need to pick this up in short order. Too bad I just broke the bank on another CD binge. :/ |

I ordered it. Apparently I was the label's first customer.  eager beaver that i am.
I didn't realise there were samples... but just saw them. ah well.. i didn't really think i needed them anyways. |

A great debut album from Adam indeed!
Also well worth checking out his other project 'Atlas'.
'I finally uploaded the album to archive.org I thought it was safest there, it’s a magical place and people actually listen to your music, which is nice. Continuing with the previous ethos employed by the past albums, all music is improvised and recorded on to cassette tape. This means there is a lot of muffled whispers and random clattering, which can be interpreted as added ‘ambience’ if you like… I condensed about 3 hours of material into 8 separate tracks, its very strange, but i like that and hope you will too'. - Adam

it's such a short album though...
and when it ends after 40 minutes you just want more so you simply press play again and drift off for another 40 minutes of pleasure.
so when you think of it, it's actually an 80 minutes long album. |
