Shamanix knocked my socks off at the time.. first time I heard it was in a rave in Melbourne in 1995, and i was going what the fuck is going on here hehe.. When I came back to Israel on my first visit to a music shop I bought myself a copy of Twisted.
Today tho, I definitely prefere the more subtle Fluoro Neuro Sponge for instance, or the Angelic Particles to the more crazed Shamanix

I'd have to say "Spiritual Antiseptic" is his best track fo sure, and the "In Dub" album... |

i think it's his fastest-produced track as well (just a few hours if i remember right...)
freaking awesome track and now that you mentioned it, I'll be craving all day long until i hear it again.
still, i remain completely under the spell of Mi-loomy-umi. Simon is the best and i agree with traveller on this album being the best i've heard. |

Careful - I heard a rumour that Simon is a friend of Raja Ram - and we all know how much we hate him these days... |

I'm with both of you. Angelic Particles is my all time favourite from Hallucinogen, and maybe trance track ever. It was the first psytrance I ever fell in love with and holds a special place in my psychedelic heart. So yeah - Shamanix is a top track. But Angelic is the one that tickles all my chakras! He was connecting with something cosmic the day that one spilled out of the ether.
And Shpongle....ahhhhhhhh yes......most beloved.... |

Twisted was the one that started it all, but Lone Deranger is the album that still sounds fresh after thousands of listens. The only tracks that still do it for me and not for the sake of nostalgy are LSD and Dark Magus. And ofcourse the magical hidden track.

@Traveller
hey ironically my latest playlist has been like a Twisted special.
Starts of with LSD and then Oscar by prometheus and then its simon all the way.... but shamanix is great. I like the twisted album as a whole.
Wish he cud remaster it today in the simon lab's. Wudnt that be great.

i have a theory that psytrance peaked at the peak of shamanix and it's been a very shallow downward curve ever since
  I said no to drugs... but they didn't listen |

Contrary popular opinions I never liked Shamanix, imo the weakest track on the 'Twisted' album.
As a whole, I like 'the Lone Deranger' better than 'Twisted', even though a track like 'Dark Magus' does the trick everytime.
And yeah, they don't make 'em like that anymore. |
