Did anyone nottice the filter stepping? Im not saying its a digital synth, im shure its analog, but that a really cool effect and I have no idea how you would do this on an sh101. Some parts of the sound sounds like a 101 but some doesnt. Very confusing.

The synth would have been sequenced using a MIDI-CV converter, which would probably (if the SH had been modified slightly) have allowed external control over the cutoff frequency. Filter sweeps and steps are then easy to do.

My first post here..
Anyway, I think he used a lot of SH-101 on his early recordings, but if I remember correctly, it was usually sampled. That would also explain the filter stepping typical to early samplers.. |

Dont know why but i doubt it. He could have just recorded the sequence first (obviously)and then cut out some parts to make the steppping. I think im gonna try this. |

LSD was released in 1995; Cubase VST was released in 1997; Emagic Logic had audio earlier than that but still... go figure. The probability is that LSD was a MIDI-only production.
Besides, according to the Hallucinogen website, the SH101 "...gets used on just about every track he has ever done. Maybe not so much recently, but only because his MIDI-CV Gate converter is broken." Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

Maybe sh101 can be the high hz synth that i havn´t listen on other psy, do you know what i mean, you can hear it for example in "the violin trance" or "space pussy" or at the beginning of lsd or in orphic french at the end and in many others. |
