Let's start it like this, before anything else.

It was wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Great, amazing, beautiful, wow. I don't have enough superlatives to write down.

Now on to the party.

At 9PM, the friend who was supposed to drive me there said something about "no, it's too expensive, my girlfiend, bla bla bla", and so I found out that I have no way to get to the party. Now considering that there's only one trance artist which I can honestly say is the best in the world, I wasn't going to miss this party for anything.

By willpower alone (well, that, a friend that drove me to the train station, a train, and hitching a ride from there), I got to the Octopus, and not only that, it took me an hour and a half.

So I was there early. Really early. People were setting up the whole place, working and cleaning and setting up the lighting. At about quarter to one, the music started playing, and at quarter past one (around that time), people started coming in.

The sound system there was very club oriented - not enough low frequencies, too much puncher, trebles that were in insane volumes (that was pretty nice at times, actually :)).

Roman's set wasn't really to my liking (night "light", when I was looking for no filters :)), and then Serge (Antidote) came on stage.

By that time, there was a big group of people around the speakers in the back of the dancefloor (where the sound was the best, and you could actually feel some bass), and that was basically my place the entire night.

The set itself was not a heavy night set, and the crowd (which contained over 50% Octopus frequenters and not just us trance nuts) really didn't respond to the more psychedelic touches in the set.

Alien Project's Genetic Eye Remix was when the party really started...

When the track got to the break, people started going wild. I saw clubbers start digging, I saw clubber girls take off their high heels...

But still, the music was not what people have in mind at 3-4:30 AM (if he'd play 2 hours later it would have been more fitting).

And at around 4:30, Simon Posford started out with a slow powerful track, which basically made everyone who isn't there for the music just walk away.

Ohhh, the power.

I (my whole body, mid and soul) responded to every beat, every little touch in the percussion, to those amazing powerful leads (which only one person in the world can do like that). As the music progressed, so did his style. It wasn't my favorite choice of tracks, but seeing the crowd go INSANE with Gamma Goblins was such a great experience. The only thing which I really was annoyed at was that the most dominant bit in LSD was the Oliver Leib remix (and only then the original live one), which is the worst one out there IMO.

In short, no more smooth production shots or anything like that, Hallucinogen was just raw power and psychedelia like I haven't heard in any live act before.

Long live, the still undisputed, king of trance, Simon Posford.

After his act, I left. I didn't want to harm the amazing impression I got from his music. Staying longer would not be giving him enough credit for the wonderful spiritual journey he sent me on for those wonderful 2 hours.
