Halion messes with my samples :(

Ok, so I've slapped the bass notes with best attack for every key into Halion so that it will nail the same note every time without irregularities.
Its just that Halion is doing something to the samples so they don't sound quite the same as when played raw. I'm bypassing all envelopes and filters etc and as far as I can see everything that could affect the samples is turned off... but its not sounding the same...
anyone has any ideas or come across this before? Maybe I should switch to another sampler?

afaik halion has about shittiest sound engine what ever its called out there among samplers
but i dunno does it fuck up samples quality wise or what in your case

Well I'm not sure, I've set resampling quality to highest but not quite sure what that implies..
What comes out anyway, is clearly at a lower volume even though all faders are set to +0db and seems more muddy to me... doesn't at all have the power of the original sample. |
