I think, it is quite difficult to generate the natural sound of an acoustic guitar, digitally.

Have heard any instrument, hard or soft, doing this, yet.

It's not as much the sound that is hard to generate, but the way of playing.
Playing these six (or more) stringed wonders are way more expressive than playing the keyboards or hackin' a f**kin PC.

If you practise every day, you'll end up doing the most incredible stuff on the guitar, and you don't even need a computer for it.

I read at leas 3 threads in this forum about getting guitar-sounds, and that made me think..

Why don't you lazy-ass trance-"so-called-Musicians" get off your asses and learn to play it???? It's not that hard you know, and you can get a pretty good guitar for less cash than a softsynth these days..

yes i totally agree with the genius above me .
as a guitarist i can tell you that there are millions of ways to approach a string (plucking wise) you can mute a string, you can overtone, there are many ways to strum a guitar so i dont see any vst simulating that successfully in the near future.

I think Ulf:G is right.,
with guitar (especially accoustical) it's all about performance.,
I heared a performance on so-so samples which was recorded using a midi guitar., it sounded awesome.,

grts,.
