~ I am using the above combination and it sounds awfull.. How can I enchace the sound?
~ I'm connecting the guitar directly into the mic or line-in inputs.. Amplitube is an Fx-track and I have one audio track for the guitar input (sending to FX-track amplitube)..
~ Thanx

u don't have a DI input? because a guitar doesn't give a line signal, it gives a high-z signal, and u need a specific input to conect the guitar to... Now i'm not entirely sure, because i know that there are certain types of software that can work without the high-z input, i just don't know if amplitude is one of those programs |

you need a good souncard with a instrument preamp in order to get a decent sound. u just cant plug a guitar into a cpu and expect a good , warm , real amplifer sound, its gonna soun plastic and with lost of distorsion , specially on high frequencies. get something like maudio ozone and native instruments guitar rig, and then ull have a decent output. i dont think a mackie mixer analogue is necessary , but maybe that would help.
hope t b useful

no!! that's another kind of input It's as old as the guitar imput so it comes closer to it then the modern line ins, but it's like pixan says, u need a good instrument preamp. Or a hi-Z input. a lot of soundcards and mixing desks have such an input. Otherwise, get urself a POD XT, that's one of the cheapest ways to get a good guitar DI input, with some handy extras. |

Vood talking about guitar rig:
"~ Tried that, too. Still sounds awfull.. Any mastering tips? Maybe that's what I should work on? "
I think U can't get any better than Guitar Rig !!!
I don't know what kinda sound your looking for...but if guitar -rig can't do it...maybe get a Marshall Amp. and some microphones....

i bought this one...
http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/JamLab-main.html
costed me about 60 euro's, sounds ok, clean and distorded
only minor is the wiring, the output is the same device as the guitarplug, not properly routable (internal) to my soundcard...but this could be just my problem..lol
i wired jack-cinch to my sound card lineIN from the jamlab output..not handy. 2 asio's fighting for the sound..anyway
DI box s also possible..
good luck |
