Does anyone have a good sound synthesis guide? More specifically I would like something that explains what all the knobs on a usual synth do (lfo stuff, mod matrix, etc).
I've just been learning by adjusting parameters, but it would be nice to have a reference guide/understand what is really going on a little better.
Thanks!

Take any decent synth manual and read it.
Imho, manuals to devices or software are much better than most "theory" articles..

Yeah I was just looking for a general outline that explains what certain things in a usual synth do. Something that can be applied to synthesis no matter what software/hardware you are using.

whatever synth with 30+ knobs and lots of routing capabilities is the ultimate guide to sound synthesis
i adore and respect all books, but if i dont sit down to experiment and listen to the result i feel like lost
imho when youve spend time on a synth and know the basic and more average stuff you are able to understand much better what a lot of the books are saying and a lot easier to follow the signal routing in your head,
studying patches is very helpful too
