i think samson......because i did'nt heard any bad words
about this monitors....especially the rubicon series
and yes you can achieve with samson monitors "pro" production.......if Atropa will be here ...he will tell you that!

If you're going for Samson, go the the Rubicon series like Alias mentioned. The Fostex are supposed to be alright too.
Though my suggestion to you would be to be patient & try and save up a bit more for some higher end monitors, your mixes will thank you for it!

in between the fostex and the samson resolv u are pretty much in the same league but if choosing the samson rubicon than the rubicons are far better monitors!
but i will still wait to have more money and get something better!
but in ur price range my choice would be the samson rubicon r6a!

My advice is if you can save the money please do so and get yourself something you wont ever want to replace.
If you cannot save any money then I'd look into your price range like you are doing and get the best you can.
Any monitors are better than none but you will be much happier if you go with a set thats up the ladder a bit.
I am currently saving for some dynaudio bm6a. I will research more in depth once I have money but they seem to be the best choice at the moment.
I look at it like this. In the long run you will just buy new monitors and eventually end up spending the same amount of money you could have had a good set for. |

Hallu-luja, i agree with the two posts above mine: save some money and buy good stuff you can trust. You'll spend more time and money buying/selling 1 or 2 pairs of monitors until you finaly get the monitors you really want/need.
Before buying new ones, try spending a bit of time and money on (DIY) accoustic treatment as well. You won't really know what your speakers can to if there are dips and peaks of over 6 decibels in your rooms frequency range

i've heard good things about the M-audio BX5a's and I own a pair of Alesis Mk2 that I am still quite happy with. They run at around 300 Euros a pair.
I don't think you should even bother with anything cheaper.

If you can, look for dynaudio BM6 (A) ! I know, it's a lot money, but the sound is real and punching ! Fantastic ! It musn't be the active one !
With both you make no mistake !
