GENRE: Progressive House ~ Techno
LENGH: 70:23 mins
BITRATE: 192 kbps
SIZE: 96,6 MB
HOST: Rapidshare
Hello Friends!
After a long time I could focus mysef again in making a new set and I´ve been to Beatport and bought some tracks as if I was dressing myself for a wedding (lol)... So I could choose and download some really good Progressive House tunes as I used to mix in the very beginning of all Hypnotic Sessions and after that the set was getting harder and heavier, dirtier and sounding more from what I am used to play nowadays, what I can ‘’Pitbull Style’’, something like a fat techno with a lot of builds ups and long breaks.

Here goes the tracklist with some short comments about the tracks (note it´s not a review, only few thoughts about them)
1- Adam S – What´s Occuring (Original Mix) TOOLROOM RECORDS – this is a real nice track with a fat bassline and some distorced sounds that remind me ‘’Intergalactic’’ track! (lol) It also has some plates from a good Tech House track and a simple but effective percussion. A simple but powerful track and great to open a set, imo.
2- Bansi & Riktam – Polisteroo (Original Mix) PLASTIK PARK – The new track from the GMS duo is very well done, it seems a little bit Deadmau5 and Gui Boratto stuff, but with the fat bassline created by Riktam and Bansi. The other track of this EP (Ride the Snake) is not so good as this one imo. There is a real catchy melody in this track which made me choose it for be the second track of the set – different from what would happen to others Riktam and Bansi tracks which are strongers then this.
3- David West, Ida Engberg – Supercluster (Tiger Stripes Remix) PICKADOLL – Here is another top downloaded track on the beatport and well, it deserved to be one of the most downloaded! David West is already very known by us, such as Ida Engberg and Tiger Stripes, so the team united just did an excellent work. With this track I gave even more melodical air to the set, with an hypnotic sequency of leads and effects, floating around trance and house styles.
4- Komytea – Professional Killers (Jerome Isma-Ae & Daniel Portman Remix) ANJUNADEEP – What to say from a Komytea´s track, remixed by nothing more then Jerome and Daniel Portman, released in Above & Beyond label? Well, you just need to listen to know the answer (lol). Jerome Isma-Ae and Daniel Portman are 2 of my top 05 favourite producers for some months already and here (as the next track) they showed why I appreciate so much their work! 2 genious producing together one track, melodic notes, fat bassline in a very, very, very harmonic and danceable track. Jerome´s sounds is already very peculiar and when his leads begin we already know it´s JEROME´S STYLE. And Daniel Portman is so creative that he added to Jerome´s track a new breath to make the best Progressive House tracks on Earth ever! And this is one of them!
5- Johnson & Haske – No Rest (Jerome Isma-Ae & Daniel Portman Remix) FLOW VINYL – Well, some people listen to this track and remembers me, maybe because I play it EVERYWHERE and in EVERY SET I mix… Maybe because there are some videos of me in Youtube playing it in Virada Cultural this year for around 40.000 people… The fact is: it´s one of my favourite tracks for some weeks already! And it couldn´t be different. A male voice cut doing like an effect in the track, a lot of GREAT percussions including a lead one, and the break is just perfect from the beginning till the explosion. A superb track, indeed.
6- Mind X – Amygdala (Main Mix) PINKSTAR RECORDS – If I am not wrong Mind X used to produce Uplifting Trance in the past (like 2001, 2002). And now he just did an excellent progressive house track, with some trance elements and housy leads but the highlight of the track is its break, which is long and filled with buids ups… I can see a perfect indoor club with everybody dancing this track. When I bought it I knew it would be one of my favourites of June, and yes, it is. This is just the middle of the set and it´s showing us why my sets are called Hypnotic Sessions, this is a perfect case of Hypnosis!
7- Mark Mendes, Mike Jacinto – Relic (Original Mix) STARTER RECORDS – This was also released by TOOLROOM but seems Starter did it before I put its name firstly. Well, after that bomb from Mind X I really needed something heavier but at the same time very danceable. Preparing the set to dive into the techno scene, this is just THE BEST TRACK OF THE SET IN MY OPINION. The bassline of this track is the high point of it, very fat, I meant, reeaaaally fat. And it´s floating, not single notes but a real ‘’brain shaker’’ bassline, almost pitbull style. The break of it is also another killer part, filled with builds ups, sirens, growing, growing, growing and never exploding, BUUUT when it explodes… omg, don´t be in front of the speakers ´cause maybe it´s dangerous! lol
8- Deepgroove, Jamie Anderson – Turbo (Original Mix) COCOON RECORDINGS – So what could I do after that fat Relic track to keep the good flow in my mix? Well, I wanted to play my newest kind of set, the fat dirty and heavy Techno tracks, which I like to call ‘’Pit Bull Style’’. And Turbo was there to make people don´t stop dancing and keep the good rythmn that the previous track created. It has almost the same style of Relic but heavier, but still with a looot of sirens, builds ups, growing up alllll the time and a very fat bassline, and the ‘’little shower’’ – white noise – effect, very commun in the techno tunes nowadays. And what to say about the bassline entering in the final of the break slowly? Ouch, that hurt me! hehe
9- Marc DePulse – Ps.You Rock (Spektre Remix) BLUFIN RECORDS – Another fat Pitbul Style track, Spektre is nowadays one of the biggest names – if not THE biggest – into the dirty heavy techno music scene, which I simply love. The percussions are excellent, pure techno music, and I can feel again the same vibrations that I felt when I used to play Hard Techno music in the 2000, 2001… Like Hydraulix tracks, Chris Liebing, etc…. Pure techno! This is so powerfull that I would advice you to be carefull where and when to play it, maybe the crowd is not so crazy to understand such a punch in the head! Again, the bassline coming slowly before the break finishes is another killer part and idea in this production, very, very, very well done!
10- Mr. Henry Von – Propaganda (Loco & Jam Rolling in the Dark Remix) REKLUSE – This one is another top downloaded track at Beatport, in Techno Genres, and I choose it first because it´s slower and less aggressive then the previous tracks but it´s fat and dirty… So the set was going to its end, I needed to get lighter but at the same time couldn´t be a big change on it´s mood, so this track fits really well (like we say in Brazil ‘’it fell like a gloove’’ lol. Also a lot of builds up, snare, etc, but the highlight is its broken beats, seems a break beats with fat bassline and the craziest percussion I ever listened. A tripping track, plenty of effects giving it a lysergic and hypnotic interface but at the background a real massive techno tune. And what about the lead sequency on its break? Omg, a simple but very effective idea (with a siren going up, up, up, up till the explosion, superb!) I can see someone stoped with this track, I would kill this guy hehehe… It´s simply impossible to be stopped! (unless you´re very scared about how aggressive it is). Another Pitbull style here.
11- Fiord – Get Up Jude (Beckers Remix) EVAPOUR8 – Finally the last track of the set nothing else then the big Hit already known by all of the Techno fans, created by my friends Barton and Hayden (aka Antix) and remixed by Beckers. This track was perfect to close this set in my opinion, because it has a fat bassline and a danceable percussions, some really nice hi-hats like those good and old Techno tunes. http://soundcloud.com/guimilani/ |

The guy is a revolution. Reviewed DJ Set. Cmon!!
Well, the tracklist speaks for it self.
As for the mixing, I'll give a proper listen and I'll share my opinion.
But I can taste it already. Another smashing HS. |

The tracklist is high quality all the way, and I practically have all tracks in my case as well
Nice flow/development in the set, and technically I think the set is tighter than the last sets I heard from you. A bit too heavy on effects in the Mind-X track though, but generally good quality mix with some long transitions.
Nice work

Dude, I was listening to your set yesterday, and all I can say is: It's inspiring music.
This really made me feel good, while listening.
When I was really paying attention, it got with the tight mixes and the long transitions, like Yannick said.
When I was just following the flow, it just amazed me. The awesome tracklist and the connection between the tracks.
I have the guts to say that this is your best mix so far.
And I assure that more will come.
Perfect! |
