Its actually not that bad. Maybe try to surgic eq that bassline so it sounds not so distorted (a little is ok but not too much.) Same for the kick, though the aim should be here to get more ompf into it... try a eq boost around 60 with 1.0 quant.
That should at least give it more drive ... also the highhats need to be either eqd more or maybe try to put specially the open one into another key (maybe a little higher key will help).
Hope this helps out!

for the kick and bassline you re not far,a bit more eq and you need to improve the balance between the bass/medium and high, more bass it ll sound fatter. |

want to post a clip of your kick/bass loop without any eq anywhere? just curious how your source sounds sound.
i have the impression that both the kick and bass are too much hi passed. i miss some low end. |

maybe try to focus only on your eq,don t use compressors for now, bypass the eq everytime you do something with it to see if it s sound really better but the bass is too thin from the synth itself too sound fat just with a eq .good luck |

not a lot of vst have enough lowend without processing,i m sure you can do great bass with albino but for this style the es1 even with no eq ll sound killer, you can try the pentagone, tau pro, rapture, they all have more body. |

Hehe that kick sounds so much like the kick from IM - Tommy the bat.
dtd is absolutly right. The kick has no really low frequencies and you cant really boost it with eq since there are no frequencies to boost! Find another sample is the best thing to do or if you can change the pitch/envelope so it falls all the way down to to whatever freq you want. You could also use a vst like Waves Maxxass or PSP mixbass to generate some lows but still: find a new sample is the best way to do it. You *might* be able to make it abit less hard by cutting at the mid/lowmid freqs but i still think it would lack the lowend freqs.
I think the bass sound is ok but a bit thin. Also your programming is quite nice (basstest2.mp3) its just your selection of samples that could be better. |
