just wonderin how you would go about grouping the two MIDI tracks KICK and BASS into ONE AUDIO channel, make everything mono, and apply compression and equing as a whole?

take the kick and the bass which are in individual channels, make an audio channel, route both instruments to it put the utility plugin on it, then compression and eq.....

on the far right side of the session view, there's a little thing called the I/O. That's where you do all of your routing...           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

thanks mubali....just wonderin in the I/O section you click on "audio to" and select the audio track on both kick and bass to one of the audio tracks...after that i dont get an audio signal....the mnitor should be in or auto? if i put it on "in" it gives some sort of feedback...its not right, if i put it on auto no audio can be heard....please if you could walk me step by step that would be great...thanks again bro
cheers

hi saii,

you have 2 options:

on the sending channels, audio to.... respective channel

on receiving channel, audio from.... no input but Monitor In (the channel changes from yellow to orange and is now receiving) (If you have auto on you need to enable record (red button) to receive audio, so i suggest the first option in this case....

good luck

Yes, that's the idea. "Audio To" for bass and kick should be set to the audio track you created for routing. Then set that track's Monitor setting to "In"

for making kick and bass mono, utility is the simplest solution; but there's a plugin called 'Basslane' by OtiumFX which allows you to force certain frequencies to mono whilst leaving upper stuff in stereo. it's free and quite useful for giving the impression of stereo width in the upper ranges of the bassline, which can sound cool
