Hello everyone..
Im having slight problem
To Group Tracks in Cubase.
I want to Group my Kick And Bass together
So I can put an Effect on it like COmpressor or Anything.. SO its going to affect both KICK and BASS... SO I dont have to put effect on both and diffrent settings for both.
I mostly put all my effects on the Inserts of the channel. But now Say If I want a delay on a few things Is there a way I can do it by just using ONE Delay line... because then its getting heavy on my CPU.
Thanks If someone know it please post in here. I think so it can be done. I just donw know how to.

project --> add track --> select type - Grouup Trk

now name tht group trk as lets say " group 1 "

now if u want to assign kick +bass to the same group for processing ....

on the extreme top of the kik and the basss channel ," select group 1 " , frm the output in the mixer for the respectice channels ....

now the out of both the kik and bass goes to gruop 1 first and not to the stereo out ...

thus now u can enjoy and process the kik and bass as if they were a single channel !

Hi Jeto!

I think u need to use "send fx"(better for saving CPU) or create another bus output...

To make a send fx: Right click on arrange-->Create Fx Track-->Choose your fx(the delay for example). BE CAREFUL NOW: Go to the fx track u created, press ALT and at same time press the solo button of the track. Don´t forget to do this! Now to use the fx, just open it on the right side of the channels mixer, and u can change the amount of the fx.

To create one more bus output: Go to VST Outputs-->Create one more stereo bus. Then just choose this bus for the tracks u want(kick/bass for example). So, u wil have a new channel on master mixer window, wich are this second bus u added. So u can use this channel to apply any fx u want(it will affect all tracks assigned to this bus). Just don´t forget that using this, u will need to export each bus, one by one. This one I use only when I want to group same kind of sounds...

Hope it helps...           LOADING...

Jeto - create a group channel.
Then go to the mixer and look for the kick & bass channels. Change "Bus 1" (or whatever it is) to your group channel.
Effects such as delay and reverb (which add to the sound, and not change it) should be used as send effects, and not inserts. If you have SX2, use the way SMS wrote. If you have SX1, open the send effects with F6, make the effects there, and then you have an option to use them in the specific channel settings.

GTN - bus channels are outputs channel, imo no reason to use them unless you got multipile outputs in your sound card and want some sounds from one output and others from another.
Group channels all go with the mixdown - and that's what you should use unless you got a good reason why not to.

In the Send effect... What does the Prefader for?
When I press it it make the effect sound much more
Is it okay to leave it pressed in "Orange"

You can also use the pre-fader to send a channel to an effect and then close the fader to just record the effect (when bouncing to audio), and not the source channel. I do this sometimes to get more control over the the effects.

Prefader takes the signal before it gets to the fader, ie. the level being sent to the effect only depends on the effect send level.

Postfader takes the signal after the fader, so that the balance of original and effected sound remains the same no matter what the level of the channel fader is. This is the setting normally used for adding reverb, delay or other effects to channels.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering
