I got the best Groove-box (My opinion),
Roland MC-505, It's just a sampler with effects
and a step sequencer, it's a groove maker!
You can Make patterns, and then play them!
It's also cool for mixing in parties!

i dont recommand you to make track with groove box.
groove box is more for live settings
if you are into making tracks then get a sequencer and some vsti and make a track

I have korg electribe rythem synthesizer, you cant build a track with the electribe only.
you can build the beats your self, or use the presets, but you will still have to add bassline, efx, backround.... |

I agree with Modulization. MC-505 is a great tool, but there are some another goodies. There's Quazimidi 305 which is very cool tool and there is Yamaha Rm1x which i don't like much.

My MC-505 is have a slot for memory card,
I can add another several hunderds of sounds any time I want!

u definately can make tracks on a groovebox,
Dark Nebula's first album, '100% Pure Brainwater', was almost entirely written on a 505.

i have emu-morpheus module ,
it plays samples , i can load samples from a
memory cards , but it's not a sampler .
"akai" - it's a sampler, because of the "input" .

What's the current price of it in Israel, do you know? And who imports it in Israel? I saw it 5 years ago in Kley Zemer for about 4000 Shekels (if i recall) and it ws much better (in my opinion) than MC-505.
