Hi all from the land down under! :)

Just found this board and am extremely impressed with the vibe going on here! The psy scene is rcoking in Melbourne as of late, and some nice acts are coming during summer.

We had InFeCtEd play indoors last month to promote their new album...I'm not so sure if I like it so much...not hard or angry enough, too polite almost, really needs to be more aggressive i think. Definitely need more of the old school IM. And they also need to be outdoors! We also have S.U.N. Project, X-Dream and a few others coming i think.

Anyway, would really like to know who is pumping out the good beats over there? The psy scene is still very much in its infancy stage in oz, and therefore we generally get more mainstream psy. What are some good underground acts from Israel?

Where can I get this music from also?

Have hooked up with some Israeli guys of late through a few dj's over here. Man do they know how to party! Kind of makes me depressed really, but the best bush doof I have been too so far was "lame" in their opinion. Can't wait to get over there, that's for sure!

Keep the tracks coming guys!

Melbourne's trance scene is probably the most developed in Australia, with some great DJs (Mr. Peculiar, Ozzy, etc), some great outdoor parties (I've been to a few myself when I visited there) with a really amazing vibe and very good and thought out decorations (I remember asking myself if those dinosaurs were alive a few times at a party where Space Cat cancelled :)).

And also has a couple of good psytrance clubs (well, The Capsule is good, the second isn't all that, since I don't even remember the name). Right now it's the beginning of summer, and you're going to enjoy some really well organized (I'll give the Australian scene that) parties in some really cool places around Melbourne.

As to getting the music, well, in Melbourne it is pretty hard to get psytrance (like all of Australia with the exception of Byron Bay) in comparison to Israel for instance, but there are at least a couple of stores which I remember having psytrance in the Melbourne city center (it was during march, so don't expect me to remember).

Anyways, you're about to have a good half year of outdoor parties every weekend now, with one of the most full-on set of DJs in the world (with good technique too!), and a great vibe.

So don't worry, Melbourne is a good place for trance :)

I know all this! I am quite friendly with Ozzy, and also know Mr. Peculiar and Benza. We also have Fractal Glider (if you haven't heard him, he is really good - really dark deep nasty psy), Space Tribe (from Byron), Sugar (amazing) amongst others.

Yes, we do have extremely good outdoor parties. This year has been no exception, even in winter we had good parties. Summer is going to be crazy if last year is anything to go by! We have S>U>N> Project on dec 7th then Space Tribe on dec 8th - Wow!

What I was really asking is the names of some mad underground acts from Israel. You know, original Israel Trance/goa style. We have plenty of good stuff here, but it's not quite like the original stuff. Any names at all guys?

I thought that the party at the quarry was excellent, since there was a GREAT vibe going around, some cool decorations (I remember asking myself if those dinosaurs were alive a few times during the party :)), and the DJs were pretty good (the transfer from night to morning music was a bit dodgy, buy that was it).

Sound system was real nice too :)

No...had work to do, but my woman went and said it was amazing! Did you come to the after party after Infected at my mates house? Ozzy and Benza tore it up for like 4-5 hours - was just crazy!

Agree...the quarry is a bloody sweet venue. And the decorations we have at our parties are definitely up there in the looks department.
Yes, am looking forward to Mr. P's debut album, really like his style, should be a cracker of an album.

How about old school goa? Any names...

didn't go to the infected after party went home for our own after party... peaking played a set for 5 hours tweaking the nord and efx and record some synth lines onto cubase......
went to a private party at the quarry that ozzie and  mr.p did a month ago and noticed that the main area where the parties were have been ripped up...so looks like no more big parties there...

was at that party too...pretty nice day the next day wasn't it!

and i was laughing so hard that this guy just walked in looking like he was lost, jumped on the decks, and played classic infected tunes for like 3-4 hours in the sunshine by the river...madness!

I'll keep you informed of my movements as I am planning a doof near the great ocean road for my 21st at the end of november.. should be a cracker

cummas, for me Trance doesn't has to be aggresive, It's more about hypnotic/emotional. and the really good underground Israeli's that I can recomend are Cosma and Everything that comes out on Optimus records.
As to Ozzie acts, the most interesting stuff comes out from Thunk recordings (Sydney) most of the rest is either too weird or too mesed up for me.
Oh and as to geting israeli music on line try www.israelism.com
Enjoy.
