It's just a Sub-Genre of Trance, what's the big deal ? There's proggy, there's full-on, there's minimal, there is melodic (and not morning, melodies can be listened to during the night as well...), so many to choose from. The clue is to pick the best from the basket, and mix it all together! Being stuck and narrow minded with music is what's wrong. I can't take an hour of "dark", but I don't mind for a couple of tracks when its suitable. Same goes for everything.

Read this post again guys.

I dunno if this style portays any relation to satanic rituals, but if it does and the media pick up on it and then the police gives more greef to parties, then I am blaming the "dark" people for being a bunch of immature w@nkers!           Me>You

....and what about this satan/devil goatshit that drives me CRAZY every time i see it??
this new branch a disgrace and a great insult to all real psytrancers,it has nothing to do with our ideas and our culture as a scene and last but not least,to my ears this is not music.it destroys the feeling and the vibe of the party....it makes the happy faces we are all used to,turn into ugly, agressive beasts....so sad..
for sure,u are free to hear whatever u like but my piece of advise is LEASE stop calling this thing psytrance and make your own scene a step further..maybe more, closer to the black/death where u all come from.
psytrance must expand and develop and must have the widest horizons this is what it does through years and that's why is never boring...but guys...not like this...
ffffffffssssssssss

you need to get a sense of history here.
look at Kode IV "Baphomet" release from like the late 80's i think...for example.
there were many things like this in the beginning. the sunny 90's were due to everyone making money and the scene catching on in popularity.
i think the current e-mafia scene in the prog/full on scenes is VERY dark. there is nothing more sick or disgusting than this dirty feeling of commercial cheapness and plastic melodies.

while i agree on one topic with you- i am personally TOTALLY not liking this Satan Devil ooh! evil! crap... thats just hype.
the music is serious art and i think it will evolve as it has already.

the twisted music is just more more more...
its a reaction to commercial crap in what is rapidly becoming a mainstream NON-freak scene in what was a purely freak-based scene.

but if you look- all throughout the goa scene there has been music that channels anger and frustration with our sick civilizations into music and it reflects a larger trend towards expressing emotions and not repressing them.
if you feel it- its real.
i think - to repeat- that it feels more authentic for some people that they express their inner emotions and not hide it.
also- most people i know who like this stuff like its intensity compared to full on...

so if you want to throw away modern crazy psy you can, but then you must throw away all full-on stuff- its not true to the goa spirit either- even goa is not true to the goa spirit with its e-mafia scenes... wheres the acid?

for sure there are tracks of any kind that are just painful. not pleasant and not danceable.
i'm NOT talking about suffering for your music here man!!!!
if a track sounds great and makes you want to dance then fine...
it takes a little bit more energy to make me dance and i dont dance when i smell fake plastic crap like stupid 2 note melodies.
i think what you think is ugly suicide music is maybe some bad tracks?
when a good track comes on people go "ahhhh" like there is some kind of relief from pressure!!!
its really freeing to dance to.
its very satisfying.
(intense music with some power and a more avante garde melodic/tonal aspect... )

Ups!! hold your horses man. some ppl developed a unique style and some others made a serious promoting effort. No need to mention wich artists and labels... I guess all of us know them ... Commercial or not i don't give a f**ck. As long as ppl are having fun i don't realy see what's wrong about it.

And what is this e-mafia comment? can you explain please?           don't fuck with me

Synonyms
dark, dim, murky, dusky, obscure, opaque, shady, shadowy
also
These adjectives indicate the absence of light or clarity. Dark, the most widely applicable, can refer to insufficiency of illumination for seeing (a dark evening), deepness of shade or color (dark brown), absence of cheer (a dark, somber mood), or lack of rectitude (a dark past). Dim suggests lack of clarity of outline: "life and the memory of it cramped,/dim, on a piece of Bristol board" (Elizabeth Bishop). It can also apply to a source of light to indicate insufficiency: "storied Windows richly dight,/Casting a dim religious light" (John Milton). Murky implies darkness, often extreme, such as that produced by smoke or fog: "The path was altogether indiscernible in the murky darkness which surrounded them" (Sir Walter Scott). Dusky suggests the dimness that is characteristic of diminishing light, as at twilight: "The dusky night rides down the sky,/And ushers in the morn" (Henry Fielding). Also, it often refers to deepness of shade of a color: "A dusky blush rose to her cheek" (Edith Wharton). Obscure usually means unclear to the mind or senses, but it can refer to physical darkness: the obscure rooms of a shuttered mansion. Opaque means incapable of being penetrated by light: an opaque window shade ; figuratively it applies to something that is unintelligible: opaque philosophical arguments. Shady refers literally to what is sheltered from light, especially sunlight (a shady grove of pines) or figuratively to what is of questionable honesty (shady business deals). Shadowy also implies obstructed light (a shadowy path) but may suggest shifting illumination and indistinctness: "[He] retreated from the limelight to the shadowy fringe of music history" (Charles Sherman). It can also refer to something that seems to lack substance and is mysterious or sinister: a shadowy figure in a black cape.

I think the word "dark" isn't the right one to define this kind of music. I believe the word "twisted" is closer to the subject.

And ofcourse the same goes for all kinds of music when i was refering to the fun part. If ppl are having fun with the so called "dark" music it's fine with me.

I just asked to ocelot what this "e-mafia" thing means and why he has to be so agressive and insulting with the full on and prog scene.

Anyway i find your example with the smarter child a bit offtopic. As i told you the word "dark" doesn't effect this kind of music. Ofcourse this is my opinion.

As for porn i find it much more entertaining than darkness...even if the last is considered "art"
