Greeks and "dark-psy"

So what's up with that? Is it anger derived from the sh!t economy that forbids us from spoiling our selves? Is it the old metal scene? Are we more of "spasimaties" than groovers/trippers? Is it the fact that we are not getting laid much (correct me if I am wrong, but population is going down apparently). Is it our aggressive (when did we become aggressive anyway?) nature and the fact that we'd rather have bad things happen to people we do not like, than simply doing better for our selves, in no one else's expense? Is it us, or are we all consuming a big batch of bad acid? Just what is it that makes us greeks like fast and dissonant noises? Why were we pretty much the only people, besides the jews, that actually liked the nitzo/uplifting stuff?

some people find authenticity and depth in what you term "dark music"
it is a refuge from commercial cheeseball sentimentalism...
when one takes psychedelics one may find various emotional indulgences in the music to be intolerable- like a plastic shopping mall coca cola cream puff candy- fake and not healthy.
plus most melodic stuff has been pandering to the house "oohs and ahhs" for too long...
if you bring me a a melody beyond that which old school goa delivered fine- dont hand me watered down house "ahh" sounds and call it psychedelic...
if you think about trippy sounds they are usually rather abstract...
that said i have a whole album of melodic progressive
fluffy stuff coming out soon so call me a hypocrite...

Is today's trend global. thats why.
this is not bad necesary. Every music style make circles and trance also.
Today is in the dark side and tommorow somewhere else.

dark is coming from the underground and it grows stronger ,but full on is still the most popular in greece...tickets say so.
dark will be much stronger untill sthng new comes..
but i thing that there is much mind traveling
in dark...

look for me the majority of greeks in psy scene tend to like full on and melodic stuff...
ok and don't associate 'DARK' with a bad trip...
that's not the way to understand it hehe
now 'Greeks and Darkpsy' i would say it's a good term for describing the new wave of Greek psy artists, who are aLL mostly dark, and many ppl abroad that like dark trance like this new Greek style

I think all psy styles (dark,morning,fullon,prog,psytech) are welcome!!! The style is not big deal, THE MUSIC IS THE POINT! If music is good everythings fine...!Its my opinion

Dark Elf probably the greek artists that you know are mostly into this thing named dark trance.
From the promos that arrive in various greek labels every day by greek artists i can assure you that there are many many many people into progressive and full on.
Its just that these people are not connected with each other like you and your friends are in order to expand your music
In a room with 100 people the 20 people that shout are easier to notice than the rest that stay quiet you know

well 14-year old e-tard i think that you should come at thessaloniki. Here you will find out that even prog music is more acceptable than the so called dark music.
I don't know how you came up with such conclusion, but anyway soon in our city we'll have another chance to find out what's going on
To be honest i know that "extremely twisted music" isn't so acceptable here.

this new branch a disgrace and a great insult to all real psytrancers,it has nothing to do with our ideas and our culture as a scene and last but not least,to my ears this is not music.it destroys the feeling and the vibe of the party....it makes the happy faces we are all used to,turn into ugly,agressive beasts....so sad..
for sure,u are free to hear whatever u like but my piece of advise is  LEASE stop calling this thing psytrance and make your own scene a step further..maybe more,closer to the black/death where u all come from.
psytrance must expand and develop and must have the widest horizons this is what it does through years and that's why is never boring...but guys...not like this...

I've been away from Greece for almost 6 years now, but keep touch with my mates back home and also check this site regularly. I am not saying the majority of greeks like this stuff (I don't know, do they?), but it appears that we do like it when looking at the parties and it also appears to be growing, hence my interest to find out what's really happening back home.
Is this just an idea I am getting, simply because "dark" trance appeals to internet geeks (hence the false perception when checking isratrance)? Or is this really happening?

dark psy will have a bad end and for sure will lead plenty of ppl to insanity. Sorry to say that but most of the dark funs i know are already wasted.

I have to agree with timxtreme about thessaloniki,most of the people here are into full on and progressive trance, the only people who are into this kind of declining and low production kind of noisy dark satanistic crap trance,,,are young
kankoures full of bad acid and few old psy dealers of the bad acid who became...... artists or djs of their miserable mood...its really sad that they call this psy trance as noizbox well said!!! |
