well gothic stuff is not for the dancefloor.i like it because the gothic elements are so specific that they can easily teleport your mind some centuries ago its more like personal experience , sumfin different
my dream is to go back in time to see how people in 13-14 century lived , but i know that this cannot happen so my only hope is the music my ticket lets say

okay, I think we have a confusion in terminology hereth..

'Gothic' in music usually refers to a style (usually called 'Goth')- examples are Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, Die Form, Christian Death, Cure, etc. Dark, beautiful music about depression and suffering, and whatnot. Teenagers love it.

Gothic literature is stuff like Dracula, HP Lovecraft, Anne Rice - vampire and dark fantasy stuff in general. Some of it does take place in the Middle Ages, but not always.

It's all very loosely related to the actual Gothic period in architecture - in the Middle Ages - more in a fantasy kind of way. Actual music from the Gothic time period is mostly religious and not dark or depressing stuff, like Hildegard von Bingen, etc.

I am not sure how, say, Tim Schuldt's 'Lucy: Male Version' while being gothic musically, would bring you back to the middle ages. But then again some people have differently wired pathways.

I really do think that Goth music gave a lot of inspiration to the first Psy-Trance artists and certainly bands like the Sisters of Mercy are a good influnce...

I'm sure at a party in Swiss in 2000 I heard psy-remix of a Sisters of Mercy Tune...does anybody here knows what it was?
It had vocals...the dark and very goth vocals of Andrew Eldritch...

I found some of the stuff off the Delta / X-Dream albums to be a little gothic influenced. Check out specifically "Rewind" - just in the atmospheres created.. seems to remind me of Gotham City in Batman or something very heavy, pounding industrial feel to it. Definitely check out the Holeg & Spies albums. Otherwise I'm at as much of a loss as you are. The 4 Carry Nuts track "Mechanical Age" was doing it for me a while back. If you find something keep us posted... this is pretty much the only style of 'dark trance' I can still dig on.

There is a track on the upcoming Scozbor release called "Hard Pooning" that you may find a bit gothic (maybe?). Also one on the Odd Harmonic album called "It Will Be Alright", but it's hard to know what you consider to be 'Gothic Trance', so I'll end this piece of promo right here           new Hadal Drop album on the way

if you don't have the last one get in touch

one of the points of goth music that it has no acutal meaning to the words in the songs...

just shouting into an open mic... the focuse is more on the band & music it self.

anyhow, there are, i'm sure. influensess of gothic everywere. sure also in trance. just dig...

I hear gothic metal influences in stuff like Spies, Dark Soho, Chi-AD (former keyboardplayer of black metallers Venom), Synsun, old Infected, Misted Muppet, Xenomorph...

Being a fan of old Cradle of Filth and slower stuff like My Dying Bride I would say 'bring it on'...

I like goth influence on psy trance! There are a lot of artists that have goth influences!Midi Miliz/Spirallianz,The Delta,X-dream...In gen the whole tech trance/psy techno scene has gothic elements.Other artists that use goth are Deviant Species,Holeg Spies,Xenomorph, many artists from atomic recs (r.i.p) were using gothic tunes,Tim Schouldt and of course Juno Reactor!           www.myspace.com/tasos_notrea
