Most of the fun is when you have completed the track and you sit back and relax and listen to it. Or when you hear people liking your track. But it is still fun while I am making the track. But definetely not mastering. I hate mastering with a passion! |

The best moments for me are when you listen to your sound with other people, on another sounsystem, in another place, after a while that you forgot a little bit your track......You listen to it with another ear, as I it's not you who did it...
And you just have to let the feedbacks coming!!!
But most of fun comes when I find a rocking rythmic structure or a good riff, anyway one good fresh sound which seems to come from nowhere and make my skin like a chicken!!!
It's kind of drug |

It all comes with experience.
When I started making music I had ideas in my mind and had no idea how to implement them.
Now I know many tricks, and keep learning all the time.
It's all experience...

well as somebody once told me, "Do music for the fun of it....do it as a hobby, don't think about how good ur final product is going to be; whether ppl like it or not...."
nowadays i do music because i like doing it....i don't care sh** about what others think of my creations...i value them because after all they are my children!
cheers & don't give up |

zooter, iīm with you!
i never really meant that music making wasnīt fun at all. i just want to point out that most people are not aware of the fact that itīs more than twiddling knobs and having a fun session with friends. itīs very hard work if you want to have a good result which stands my high expectations (coming from all the good music i dj all the time). and, zooter, with having good results i do mean good results in my eyes or better, in my ears...
i donīt give a shit about what other people think about it either.

but you should to pay attention to others because music is not personal business , everyone like to hear something fresh and make it for yourself only is too self ambitioned .
so try to mix between what you said and other reality that i showed you . |

the "kbbbkbbbkbbb style" is the most effective for trance induction in my eyes!
and complexity does not have to come from the basic beat structure. this has to be very monotonous and repetitive in order to get you in a trance state.
the complexity comes from the layering of fx, pads and leads.
f.ex. most of the parasense or psykovskys "last bus madrus" are this style of basic beat structure - but when you listen to it the effect isnīt simple at all...
itīs allways a good mixture of trance - inducing repetitivity and mind altering/ challenging sounds/ melodies/ atmospheric layerings.
love to all |

Sektor666, i understand what you say. of course youīre also right. there has to be some friends or a small group around you that like what you do cause otherwise it is, as you say, too self ambitioned. music is of course a little bit more than exclusively individual. it has some social aspects.
but the extreme opposite is even worse, i think.
listen to the music i call "standardized dancefloor trance" and youīll agree that it would have been more interesting if those artists have done more their own thing and paid less attention to what has become typical these days. for me it is boring. i want as much individuality as possible, even if i know that the best music often is beyond individuality... |
