Photoshop is your paintbrush
Illustrator is your stencil
InDesign is your canvas

if you have a large font collection don´t do the mistake and install too much fonts. that will slow your system.
get an font explorer to browse your fonts and when you´ve choice one install it through the explorer and when you won`t use the font often uninstall it after use.
Linotype Fontexplorer X is super but actually only for Mac´s.
Font Hit Fonttools is good for Windows and free.
good luck! |

Well Anogenic pretty much broke it down, I can't add much, but I will add that http://www.dafont.com/ has some good fonts.

MS publisher also ain't tht bad, though it cannot edit / create images
  ..and it can be even
more important than readin the bible 6 times or becomin a pope or somethin like tht |
