A rare footage from near a fort in
Maharastra (above Goa), february 18, 1992.
in this one ^^ what is the name of the track played at 7 mns? edit :just found it, LDC - Wir Schicken Dich Ins All ,seems like it was a hit of these days.(i wonder if it have been remixed later, some leads sound very familiar like in a goa track that i dont remember the name )

i don't know. maybe this is more about the state of the scene itself, but i enjoy the more recent music more than the stuff from the 90s.... i mean, i've spent the time and listened, and i like the more techy glitchy modern sound like ocelot, ajja and the like.
i tell ya, i've spent a year throwing parties now, and it's made me want to hide in my bunker/studio. everyone that's into this music is either crazy as hell or freakin stupid, with the rare exception of the folks that are truly into the sound..... least in my little world in the states....

yes the stuff from early 90 might sound strange to many . personnaly i find it strange too but i know i would have enjoyed it a lot at that time , also the parties..
track like this one back in 92 i would have probably loved them and enjoyed them a lot in parties if i was a bit older.
someone that enjoyed these parties and would end up today in one of these big brazilian parties would just make a bad trip (if he can find some lsd there)
what i also really enjoy is how some of the synths sound liquid compared to today

Wicked video's from Goa!!! I'm sorry dude and dudettes. This music is so much more trippy and hypnotic than today's fast "stop & break" pop trance (if you at all can call it trance).

when you look at parties of todays , in some place i can t even see a hippy in the crowd (very big parties with cheesy music),or some other parties i can see lot of the young generation (dark psy) i dont judge anyone with how it looks and all that but i would just enjoy so much more in parties like in the goa video with this music and crowd.

yeah, i would actually like to know how many of those nice people we see in the videos from those days, endet up in a bad trip and stayed there for years. and how many of them just adapted to new terrains and that is why there are gone...
i love the videos. i dont know if i should cry or be happy and honoured to have been part of it in the nineties. i wanna cry. but i will not.

And I wonder how many people have an exactly opposite impression of the US scene? At least from hanging around the North American forum I got a feeling that it’s totally not the way dreadieg described here. Maybe in some polyester-and-glitter pockets of LA or NYC it is like that, but there is no need to extrapolate it on the whole continent.
(In fact, there is no need to extrapolate anything from LA and NYC to the whole US. )

dreadieg...if you don't mind me inquiring, where are you in the US?
That has not been my experience with the scene here at all, though I only have experience on the northeast and northwest coasts with a small dabbling in the california scene (outdoors, no cities).
Aside from a few big (not by international standards) festivals during the summer the trance scene is small and underground and supported by very passionate people for the right reasons. No one makes money....well maybe enough to keep events giong, but thats it. That's how it should be imo, profit corrupts.
US scene is fantastic right now. However if you're going into a club in NYC (or, I assume, LA) just know that your potential experience will be quite limited...as you're in NYC. I love visiting NYC and I have a bunch of friends that throw some cool parties there...but the energy of NYC doesn't mesh well with the trance experience imho. I needs the nature.

Just watched the videos Shahar posted. That is what I fell in love with.
The other thread here, 'Lost it'. I know those days can never come again, because there is a history that led up to it and it will always be different than the history that leads up to tomorrow's party. But the feeling you get when immersed in a certain track, that can never be lost, that is the reason we love music. And if you love music you'll keep your ears open and find new music that you love.
For me, I won't be able to experience the parties like in the old days, being where I live right now and the music taste of the scene here, but I can have that experience on my own with my ipod in the trees
