"Right" was meant to be IMO but I am sure you got my point. And if you read my post again carefully you will notice I even wrote "less right" as a comment to those who bitch about people complaining

Gone back and re-read your post a couple times to make sure I wasn't missing anything and I still get the impression that I got the first time reading it...

You are of the opinion that the trance was better back then, and that people who didn't experience it at that time have a hard time understanding why you and others think that way. Am I way off?

I get it. The old goa sounds resonate with me personally moreso than most of the new stuff that's out there and I recognize it as the special stuff that it is.

However, I am just as passionately moved by some of the new stuff, and the trance experience is more than just the music. It's the community experience..the people...the journey...and even if (and I disagree with this) the music was complete shite and there was nothing but cheesy israeli full-on being played there would still be the people and the communal dance.

Some of the best parts of the trance experience for me have absolutely nothing to do with the music! It's the people, man Psytrancers are the shit.

Someone should go around and find a bunch of music from the 'good old days' that just completely sucks nuts and post a whole thread of it. That'd be awesome.

Posting a bunch of great music of today would be even "awesomer".

As I tried to say earlier: I don't think the OP was about music at all. It really was about Good Old Days. Some music really was great, other just seemed great because of how fantastic those Days were. Happiness and naive energy of people at those parties - that's what those videos were about, not about whether Artha can compete with Astral Projection.

Personally, I'm too young to go retro.

it s just some can t find what they enjoyed in this scene anymore.rave scene died in 95 (i was not there) but it was sure way better than today in my place.( each part of the globe have different scene some it s more commercial ,some everyhting is legal other place it s more illegal..different crowd.. so it s complex... me when i say it was better in the old day i talk about the place where i live at first )
but if you bring me somhewere in the nature, in a partie made with good spirit ,not for the money , even better if it s free and hiden for the cops and some good dj sets i ll be the first to tell you that partie is fuckign great it remind me the goold old days !

Place and time.
I am sure there are plenty of people here for whom "Good Old Days" were not in ’95. For some, they started with Astrix of 2002 (boo all you want ). My "Good Old Days" started with Filteria and CPC (yeah, an interesting combination ) less than a year ago. But that’s only if we talk about psytrance! Again, that would be about music - and just a narrow sliver of the music Universe at that. It's not really about "Good Old Days", which is about many things, not just music. Certainly, not just about psytrance. My own Good Ole Times were in '87 and music I danced to was a cheesy abomination back then. Psytrance did not even exist. Does it change anything? Not for me.

yes here most ppl that enjoyed before 95 will tell you it died at this time , then the one who enjoyed 95/96/97 will tell you it died in 98 ,the one who enjoyed 99/2000/2001 will tell you it died in 2002.. we all went in this scene for different reason and taste , but this change with time and one day you probably won t find anymore what got you in this scene and why you enjoyed it ,the evolution of the music always bring new things that some dont like.. + there is the parties that can t get worst with time in some place (cause of the cops for example and partie organizer that lost the spirit and think maybe too much to money).

“Good Ole Times” are usually about what was going on in your life, not about what style of music was popular at the moment. It’s almost always the same time for everybody: the time you got out of what seemed like a prison. For some it’s graduating from high school, for others it’s getting discharged from the military, for somebody else it’s moving out of your parents’ house. Yet for somebody else it may actually be a release from a real prison. Or coming out of the closet, for that matter. It’s the euphoria of no longer being confined, the illusion of freedom, freshness of new experiences, dreams of unlimited possibilities. Until reality kicks in and you realize that life “on the outside” is not much different from the prison you just escaped – minus the prison’s safe predictability. It’s not about hardware vs. software synths and it’s not about magic mushrooms vs. designer pills. It’s about romantic times vs. cynical times, that’s all. And the border between those times is different for everybody. Some people never cross it, by the way. Lucky bastards!

...really great videos. especially the first one. love it. i would love to be there now.
it is just the people. did you see even one person on this video that you did not like??
i dont see any. everyone is in the right place. reminds me so much of the voov at the same time.

and you remember the flair of israel in the 90ies. how all guys talked all the time about israel and all parties were so hard to reach and no one ( outside of israel) knew where they were and you needed fucking lots of connections to get infos about what is going on in israel. and it was so cool to have been in israel, everyone who did it, was a museum piece to be seen. ...

so nice it was. so nice music also. i dont remember anz bad artists from that time. not even one.

Of course you don't. Parties like that were from over a decade ago.

I guarantee you that there was music put out around that time, maybe even played at some of those good ol' time parties that wasn't particularly awesome.

But why remember mediocre music 10 years down the line?            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

I enjoyed it from 90 and I still enjoy it. Differently, of course, but I'm different. I'm all for enjoying it. And actually, I didn't find a better way to pass a weekend yet
