i'm interested in the makyo album. i heard that he did concentrate fully on chill this time which imo is very good. i've always had mixed emotions about the makyo albums so far because of the not so good trance tracks that have been spoiling the mood for me.
maybe this album will hit the jack pot  |

Judging from the other dakini albumns - i think these ones will be a totally chiller .... I like the Makyo stuff and heard the puff dragon stuff on saiko and absolutely loved it - look out for these ones folks its going to an eye into your calm side for sure. |

Official release date is today, 11/2.
Puff Dragon has a new version of Chinese Radio that's even more out there. That's the heaviest track on the album, so you can judge how chilled it is by that. Both this & makyo never go over 108 bpm, or so Hiyoshi tells me.
Makyo isn't all chill -- split half & half-- but there are no "bad trance tracks" either.
;-)
First half is tribal percussion with breaks, Turkish & persian & indian vocals & flutes on top, tight synth basslines & lots of trippy dub fx on the fly. Trax in 9/8 and 10/8 rhythms as well. Second half is deeper, dubbier, lighter, finally beatless on the long closing track, which features a beautiful, melancholy vocal by Nona and santoor solos by Jimi Miyashita over Eno-esque floating loops...
