well im not sure if this belongs here but i guess this cd is good for easy listening. the older members of this forum might know this, i found it while cleaning my parents vynil collection it just cought my eye it's calles War Of The World's by Jeff Wayne
it's a soundtrack (based on a book) any way Jeff was one of the first to use wierd and orignal SFX (very kwel) !! it's great music it tells a story of aliens taking over earth (kinda hard to explain if any one knows this album and thinks he can do it better then me please do !!!) it caused a panic attack when it was first broadcasted on the am radio because people thought that aliens are really taking over earth (long time ago go figure :) ) any way it's quite old so if u can get your hand on a copy give it a good listen from begining to end
i think u will like it !!! (Very Psy sounds)
p.s there is an old track called Star Wars (not GMS) and the sample opening this track is taken from the opening of this album:

good morning green, this musical masterpiece is based on a novell by H.G.Wells, and the radio broadcast was made by Orson Wells, the famous actor.
I'm happy to see that someone is still interested in 70's gems, although I'm a bit offended by the 'Easy Listening' remark - we used to spend days in the kibutz listening to that one and analizing the storyline & music line.

I still have Jeff waynes's WOTW somewhere on Vinyl (btw, i bought the remastered CD with 6 additional remixed tracks, THE BOMB!), and everytime i listen to it, i get amazed all over again.
No one would have belived, that in the last years of the nineteenth century, that human affairs were being watched from the timeless voids of space. no one could have dreamed that we were being scruitenized, as someone with a microscope that studies creatures that Swarm and multiply in a drop of water. Few men even considered the possibilty of life on other planets. and yet, across the gulfs of space, Minds immesurably superior to ours, regarded this earth with envious eyes. and slowly, and surely, they drew their paths against us...

Tal- "but i guess this cd is good for easy listening" LOL i guess you are right it's not easy but i put it in the chill-out so i thought what the heck....for me is was easier because i read the book... any way amazing vynil !!! iv'e been listeng to it for a long time now (a year) and it dosn't get old.

go to any record shop and ask for Jeff Wayne's war of the worlds. ask for the special CD with remixes. it owns! |
