guys, i have to say, its not so cool what they have done, 'cause the people who supply the cannabis are still criminals, this means they are also generally (at some point in the supply chain) pretty unsavoury people who do, like, bad stuff huh  it would've been a lot better if somehow they regulated the supply. imo this is a muddled policy, just as letwin says...

Good job UK. I agree with Tom that it's a pretty confusing policy. Especially for stoners like me, but it's at least a start.
Even a small step like this is still light years away here in the US. Canada was talking about doing something similar not too long ago, and we threatened embargos, closing down the boarders and what not. I feel like we are the main reason that it hasn't been legalized world wide yet.

fucking (pardon my french) US of A is the only reason its not legal.
dude do you know the history of this thing ?
the only reason weed is not legal all over the world is one man.
Harry Anslinger, the head of the FBN (Federal Bureau of Narcotics) very long time ago.
same guy made it ilegal in the us and then made the whole world do the same with the help of the UN.
i wish he never lived.
if i had a time machine i would go back and kill him for sure...
its sounds funny.
but yes its all because of 1 man's crusade against marijuana.

cause you need to 100% legalized it to make everything right.
i mean, when it is 100% legal, then there will be NO drug dealers.
you will buy it in coffe shops or weed stores or whatever.
and thats not the case yet in UK.

well, i guess you have a point. but it seems to me bizarre if you are effectively sanctioning a form of behaviour to allow it to be almost entirely controlled by organized crime. it would be like allowing gambling but not having any legit casinos...
